NORMAN, Okla. - Tennessee's most grueling road trip ended with another hard-fought win.
This time, however, the Vols didn't have to go into overtime.
Shyra Ely scored 17 and Shanna Zolman added 14 to keep second-ranked Tennessee unbeaten with a 71-55 win over No. 13 Oklahoma on Sunday.
The Vols (9-0) played their third game in 10 days and posted their second win over an unbeaten Top 15 team. Tennessee also defeated then-No. 6 Stanford and DePaul, both in overtime, on a road trip that covered more than 4,900 miles.
The game was played in front of 12,080, the largest to watch a women's basketball game in Oklahoma history.
Early in the second half, Zolman sandwiched two jumpers around a 3-pointer in a 14-2 run that gave Tennessee a 48-36 lead. The Sooners never got closer than eight the rest of the way.
NO. 1 UCONN 87, SAINT JOSEPH'S 34: Barbara Turner scored 19 and Diana Taurasi added 18 for the visiting Huskies, who started 5-of-15 from the floor, missed easy layups and made a few turnovers. UConn closed the first half on a 13-2 run, making 12 of its final 18. The Huskies finished 36-of-61 from the field; Saint Joe's was 11-of-46. Maura McBryan and Elizabeth Mohan each scored seven for the Hawks, who are 0-7 against top-ranked teams.
NO. 4 TEXAS TECH 55, NO. 7 STANFORD 46: Alesha Robertson scored 18 to help the host Raiders set a school record for their best start (11-0). Texas Tech started the 1999-2000 season with 10 consecutive wins. Kristen Newlin had 14 points and 12 rebounds for the Cardinal. Texas Tech never trailed, building its largest lead at 36-25 early in the second half.
NO. 12 LA. TECH 87, NO. 6 PENN STATE 84: Amber Obaze hit a 35-footer with 1.2 seconds left as Louisiana Tech ended the Lions' 24-game home win streak. Amisha Carter had 17 points and 13 rebounds for Tech, which led 41-35 at the half. Kelly Mazzante scored 29 to lead Penn State.
NO. 9 MINNESOTA 75, WIS-GREEN BAY 55: Lindsay Whalen scored 22 and Janel McCarville added 17 points and 13 rebounds to lead the host Gophers. Abby Scharlow scored 26 on 9-of-14 shooting for the Phoenix.
NO. 17 VA. TECH 60, JAMES MADISON 53: Erin Gibson had 15 points and 12 rebounds to lead the visiting Hokies. The Dukes used a 10-1 run and closed within 57-53 with 44 seconds left. Carrie Mason made three free throws in the last 33 seconds to help seal it.
NO. 18 OHIO STATE 95, PENN 54: Brandie Hoskins scored 22 on 10-of-12 shooting to lead Ohio State in the championship of the Buckeye Classic. Jewel Clark led Penn with 22 points.
NO. 23 AUBURN 63, MARIST 47: Le'Coe Willingham had 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the visiting Tigers. Auburn was 20-of-25 from the free-throw line and outrebounded Marist 53-32 to get its fifth straight win.
NO. 25 BC 94, SACRED HEART 49: Lisa Macchia scored a career-high 28 for host Boston College, which started with a 13-0 lead. Jessalyn Deveny added 21 points, and Brooke Queenan had 12 points and 11 rebounds for the Eagles, who shot 58.3 percent.

UNLV 74, USF 61: The visiting Bulls cut a 22-point second-half deficit to seven with less than three minutes left, but could not overcome 19-for-69 shooting from the field. Jessica Dickson led USF with 19 points and Nalini Miller added 15 points and 10 rebounds. The Rebels shot 61.9 percent in the first half for a 44-25 lead. It was coach Regina Miller's 100th win in six years at UNLV.
FSU 88, FDU 77: Freshman Shante Williams scored 15 of her team-high 17 in the second half to lead the Seminoles from a 15-point deficit in the Malibu Beach (Calif.) Classic hosted by Pepperdine. The Seminoles took their first double-digit lead over Fairleigh-Dickinson at 79-69 with 3:15 left. FSU led by at least nine the rest of the way. On Saturday night, FSU fell 81-68 to No. 22 TCU, which pulled away in the second half, making 13-of-27, including four 3-pointers.
MIAMI 80, RICHMOND 73: Chanivia Broussard's career-high 32 points helped extend the host Hurricanes' best start (9-0) in school history. Broussard made 15-of-20 from the floor and had nine rebounds and four blocks for Miami, which led by as many as 20 in the second half. The win streak is Miami's longest since the 1992-93 season.
