MILWAUKEE - Steve Novak scored 19 and Travis Diener added 14 points and nine assists as Marquette overmatched Florida A&M 83-63 Monday night.
It was the most points this season for Marquette, which fell out of the Associated Press Top 25 for the first time since January 2002.
FAMU's Terrence Woods, who led Division I with 139 3-pointers last season, missed his first eight 3-point attempts before hitting one with 17:16 left in the second half. He finished with 20 points.
ARK. ST. 64, TCU 58: Aaron Curtis missed a tying 3-pointer with 28 seconds left, then visiting Arkansas State added three free throws. TCU led 33-31 at halftime but made just 6-of-23 field goals in the second half.
SOUTHERN MISS 91, WILLIAM CAREY 59: Clement Carter set career highs with 30 points and 10 rebounds to lead the host Golden Eagles. Southern Miss led its NAIA opponent by as many as 39 twice.
MEMPHIS 63, SAMFORD 62: Antonio Burks scored 20 and assisted on Sean Banks' winning basket with 19 seconds left to lift the host Tigers. Banks' 3-pointer with 1:33 left completed a comeback for the Tigers, who trailed by 54-47 with 5:28 remaining.
Alford 0-3 vs. Knight
DALLAS - Steve Alford still hasn't beaten his former coach. Andre Emmett, Bob Knight's current star player at Texas Tech, scored 23, including the last six in a 10-0 first-half run, and the Red Raiders beat Iowa 65-59.
Alford was the best player on the last of Knight's three national championship teams in 1987 at Indiana, where he was part of 92 wins in his career. But as a coach, Alford is 0-3 against Knight.
UGA 79, CHARLESTON SO. 59: Four seniors scored in double figures as the host Bulldogs pulled away late. Charleston Southern trailed by three with 12:28 left before Georgia pulled away by 24. Jonas Hayes scored 17, including 13 in the second half, to lead Georgia.
W. CAROLINA 62, ARKANSAS 59 (OT): Kevin Martin scored 33 to lead visiting Western Carolina to its second victory ever against an SEC opponent. Martin, the nation's leading scorer averaging 28 coming in, had eight of the Catamounts' 11 points in overtime. Jonathon Modica, Arkansas' leading scorer at 21.4 points, tied it at 51 at the end of regulation. It was his only basket of the game.
GA. STATE 77, AUBURN 72: Nate Williams scored a career-high 28 and had 12 rebounds to lead the visiting Panthers, who were down by 10 at the half.
S.C. 86, S.C. STATE 50: The host Gamecocks got a career-high 21 points from guard Michael Boynton to improve their all-time record against the Bulldogs to 12-0.
UT 79, TENN. TECH 61: Brandon Crump scored 20 and John Winchester added a career-high 13 for the host Vols. Tennessee trailed twice in the first half, then started the second half on a 15-5 run.
MISS. 64, JACK ST. 56: Justin Reed scored 21 and host Mississippi pulled away in the final five minutes. The Rebels outscored Jacksonville State 17-10 down the stretch to win their third straight.
CLEMSON 74, RADFORD 58: Chey Christie scored 20 as the host Tigers went on a late 14-0 run. Clemson led 60-52 with 4:33 left before scoring on its next seven possessions.
VIRGINIA 89, COASTAL CAR. 74: Elton Brown had 22 points and 11 rebounds to lead the host Cavaliers. E.J. Gallup led Coastal Carolina with 17.

MIAMI 81, N.C. A&T 62: Robert Hite scored 19 to lead the host Hurricanes. Miami started sluggish against the winless Aggies, falling behind 17-8 at 12:11. But the 'Canes responded with a 12-2 run to pull within 20-19 and took a 26-24 lead when Darius Rice dunked with 4:30 left before halftime. Miami never trailed again.
UCF 69, NIAGARA 67: Josh Bodden's basket with .4 seconds left lifted visiting Central Florida. Bodden was credited with the winner after Niagara's James Reaves was charged with goaltending.
KANSAS ST. 66, B-CC 52: Jeremiah Massey scored 17 and Tim Ellis 16 as the host Wildcats kept Bethune-Cookman winless.
JU 65, SAVANNAH ST. 60: David Lee scored 20, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range, to lead visiting Jacksonville.
