Things we like

Art has a way of reminding us that Christmas really isn't all about shopping, cooking and getting frazzled. Check out the pure, playful joy of mother and child here in Madonna of the Cherries, painted in the 1520s by Antwerp painter Quinten Metsys. It's one of the many treasures at the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota.

Best wishes for a fun and joyous holiday from all of us here at Weekend.
