CLEARWATER -- Comparison is odious, as the saying goes, but unavoidable when it comes to Some Like It Hot, the musical now playing at Ruth Eckerd Hall.
A band for Jewish punk fans
Lovers of punk rock who are Jewish may want to find two recent CD releases by the Australian band YIDcore on Swell Records: The band's debut YIDcore, which "puts the 'Oi!' into 'Oy Vey!,"' is a collection of young, loud, snotty punk versions of classic Jewish songs. The band's follow-up, YIDcore: The Great Chicken Soup Caper EP, is, its label boasts, recommended by "four out of five rabbis."
