  • BIA LOWAS, JOSEPH VINCENT, 85, of Floral City, died Wednesday (Jan. 1, 2003) at home. Born in Ambridge, Pa., he came here in 1989 from Miami. He was a retired airline captain with PanAm World Airways with 35 years of service. He was an Army Air Corps veteran and was a member of PanAm Clippers Pioneers. He was Catholic. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Jane Bia Lowas, Alexandria, Va., and Andrea Josette Bia Lowas, Inverness; two brothers, Raymond, Clearwater, and William, Pennsylvania; and two sisters, Alicen Stein and Doloris Hughes, both of California.   • BOICH, DUSHON, 92, of Oakland, formerly of Homosassa, died Tuesday (Dec. 31, 2002) in Oakland. Born in Glencoe, Ohio, he moved to Oakland four years ago from Homosassa. He was a retired furniture repairman for Sears, St. Petersburg. He was a member of American Legion and VFW. He was Methodist. Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Sarah M. He was a volunteer firefighter for Gospel Island Fire Department for 15 years. He was a former teacher for the Fellowship Class of First Baptist Church of Inverness for 22 years.   • HAGG, ARTHUR G., 75, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday (Dec. 31, 2002) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Brooksville. Born in Tewksbury, Mass., he came here 10 years ago from Waltham, Mass. He retired from sales with the Boston Gas Company and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Massachusetts Club of Spring Hill and Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Spring Hill. Survivors include his wife, Ruth; three sons, John, Nashville, and David and Charles, both of Lawrence, Mass.; three daughters, Barbara Morgan, King City, Calif., Joyce Hanks, Masaryktown, and Carolyn Hagg, Spring Hill; a brother, Kenneth, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.   • HENSLEY, HELEN, 74, of Brooksville, died Tuesday (Dec. 31, 2002) in Brooksville. Born in Rosehill, Va., she was a 50-year resident of Brooksville. She was a member of the Florida Chiropractic Auxiliary for many years and served as president for two years. She was a volunteer schoolroom mother and a Cub Scout den mother. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Brooksville for 50 years, and was a teacher and superintendent of Sunday School classes there. He was a heating and air conditioning mechanic for GTE, retiring after 16 years, and was a member of Nativity Catholic Church.     • CHAPMAN-WRIGHT, FRANCES RUTH, 58, of St. Petersburg, formerly of Clearwater, died Tuesday (Dec. 31, 2002) at home. She was born in Clearwater. She was a licensed day care provider and also worked as a medical assistant in the emergency room at the former Clearwater Community Hospital and at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. She was a member of Countryside Christian Center and taught Sunday school at Everybody's Tabernacle in Clearwater. She was a volunteer for the Pinellas County Fair and Sunburst Power Kids in Pinellas Park. She was a Girl Scout leader for nine years and a cheerleading and youth football team mother in Dunedin and Clearwater. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, fishing, gardening and camping. Survivors include two sons, Robert Ray Wallace, and John Winton Wallace, both of Clearwater; two daughters, Frances Wallace-Hall, St. Petersburg, and Jacqueline Louise Cassaway, Dunedin; her mother, Frances Winnelle M. He was a Marine Corps veteran and served two tours in Vietnam, earning a Silver Star and a Purple Heart. He was a 1965 graduate of Clearwater High School and attended the University of Florida. Before moving here, he worked 15 years in management for Sears, Roebuck and Co. and then owned Western Auto stores in North Carolina and Florida. He was an Army Air Forces captain during World War II, working in the personnel department of the Air Transport Command in Cincinnati and Washington, D.C. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Dunedin and was a former chairman of its ushers committee. He was a graduate of Emory University and a member of Phi Delta Theta Alumni Association. He was executive director of the Greater Dunedin Chamber of Commerce from February 1976 to July 1977. He was a former chairman of the Dunedin board of adjustment and appeals and served on the city's comprehensive planning citizen advisory committee, the Dunedin stadium advisory committee and the mayor's advisory committee. He was a former Dunedin History Maker of the Year. He was a member of the Dunedin Historical Society and Sons of the American Revolution and a past president of Dunedin Kiwanis Club. He was a world traveler.
