  • BARBEAU, JOSEPH A., 71, of Inverness, died Tuesday (Jan. 28, 2003) in Inverness. Born in Ocala, he came here in 1998 from Orland Park, Ill. He retired as a race track farrier, working in Chicago and New Orleans for 40 years. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Stoecker; three daughters, Debra Jay, Wichita, Kan., Suzette Barbeau-Hayes, Calumet City, Ill., and Jennifer Jaye Barbeau, Munster, Ind.; and four grandchildren.   • BARNICKLE, RUSSELL JR., 75, of Hernando, died Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2003) at Mariner Health of Inverness. Born in Paterson, N.J., he came here in 1996 from Pompton Lakes, N.J. He was a retired plumber and pipefitter. He was an Army and Air Force veteran. He was a member of the Beverly Hills Knights of Columbus and Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church of Beverly Hills.   • CANNON, GEORGE REDDING, 60, of Crystal River, died Tuesday (Jan. 28, 2003) at Seven Rivers Community Hospital, Crystal River. Born in Miami, he came here three years ago from Manasquan, N.J. He retired from the Greyhound Bus Co., New York City, with 21 years of service. He was an Army veteran who served during the Vietnam War era and was awarded the Bronze Star. He was Catholic. She was a retired research analyst for the Vermont Department of Employment Security and a member of Vermont State Retired Employees Association. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, a 32nd Degree Mason, and active with the Boy Scouts of America. Born in Eustis, he moved to St. Petersburg in 1993 from Dade City. He was an automotive technician in Sanford for 12 years.   • BROWN, WILLIAM E., 87, of Port Richey, died Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2003) at Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point. He came to Florida in 1954 from his native Atlanta. He was a regional claims superintendent for State Farm Insurance in Miami. He was a graduate of the University of Georgia, where he earned a law degree. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was born in Hamilton, Ohio, and came here in 1976 from Chicago, where he worked for Public Vending. He was a wastewater technician for the city of St. Petersburg. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Palm Lake Christian Church. Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Joanne; his son, James, St. Petersburg; two daughters, Barb Moga, Hinsdale, Ill., and Angelique Flore, St. Petersburg; a brother, Ronald, Joliet, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Michael Moga, Melanie Moga, Charles Whitlock, Zeric Glore and Nicholas Whitlock.     • WILD, HELGA A., 71, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday (Jan. 29, 2003) at Shore Acres Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born in Berlin and came here in 1967 from Fort Leonard Wood, Mo. She was a retired cashier for the Coast Guard Exchange in St. Petersburg. She was Lutheran. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Stephen G.     • WILLEY, MILDRED E., 96, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday (Jan. 28, 2003) at College Harbor Retirement Community. She came here in 1956 from her native Baltimore. She was a member of Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd in Seminole. Survivors include a son, John A., Fort Lauderdale; a daughter, Janet W. She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle. Survivors include two sons, Matthais N. Wittenbauer, Madeira Beach, and Harold John Wittenbauer, Pinellas Park; two daughters, Helen Anne Wittenbauer, St. Petersburg, and Caroline Swanson, Hewitt, N.J.; a sister, Marion Carlson, Whiting, N.J.; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
