Water safe to drink, officials say
TARPON SPRINGS -- Residents along Westwinds Boulevard and Clipper's Way can stop boiling their drinking and cooking water and return to normal water use, city officials said on Thursday. The city on Jan. 30 issued a boil-water notice to about 75 households along the half-mile stretch between Tradewinds and Westwinds boulevards after a broken water line created a contamination threat. Any time a water line breaks, pressure inside the pipe drops, which means contaminants could enter the water stream. Tests for contaminants proved negative and the water is safe to drink, officials said.
Dunedin candidates respond
