MARSHALL, LILLIAN B., 99, of Beverly Hills, died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003) in Ocala. Born in New York City, she came here in 1966 from Lynbrook, N.Y. She was a telephone company supervisor, a member of Carmelite Third Order, past treasurer of the Beverly Hills Republican Club and active member of the Ladies Guild of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. RICHTER, ANNA, 86, of Inverness, died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003) at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Born in Hiteman, Iowa, she came to Florida in 1973 from Queens, N.Y. SULLIVAN, HUGH B., 94, of Inverness, formerly of Beverly Hills, died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003) in Inverness. Born in New York City, he moved to Beverly Hills in 1972 from New York and moved here in 2000. He was a retired credit analyst for Con Edison and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a direct Mayflower descendant. He raised pigeons and was member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Survivors include his sister, Anastasia F. Sullivan, Inverness. WATSON, ALFRED H. JR., 81, of Beverly Hills, died Wednesday (Feb. 5, 2003) in Inverness. Born in Bronx, N.Y., he came here in 1983 from Bergenfield, N.J. He was a retired lithographer with Barton Press, New Jersey with 10 years of service. He was an Army veteran of World War II. and arrived in Pearl Harbor one week after the attack. He was trained as a lithographer during the war and worked on invasion maps at the Hawaiian Lithograph Co. until 1945 when he was discharged. He was a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Florida Sheriff's Association, Citrus Radio Control Club, Beverly Hills Garden Club, Sunshine Club and was Lutheran. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Arline F.; a son, Alfred H. Water III, West Hollywood, Calif.; and a sister, Dorothy Ann Watson, New York. Fero Funeral Home With Crematory, Beverly Hills.
WELCH, WILLIAM C., 75, of Inverness, formerly of Clearwater, died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003) at Monroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala. Born in Urbana, Ill., he came here four years ago from Clearwater. He was a handyman in the restaurant industry and a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the East Inverness Community Club and the Vineyard Church. Survivors include three nieces, Traci and Cathy Reid, both of Clearwater, and Alley Reid, Inverness; a nephew, Robert Reid, Homosassa; and legal guardian, Betty Reid, Inverness. ANDERSON, DOROTHY F., 82, of Brooksville, died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003) at home. Born in Fitzgerald, Ga., she came here one year ago from Port Charlotte. She was a homemaker, taught public schools in Florida and Georgia, was a Sunday School teacher, Girl Scout volunteer for 10 years and was Protestant. BAKEN HARRY, 89, of Spring Hill, died Friday (Jan. 31, 2003) at Spring Hill Regional Hospital. Born in New York City, he came here several years ago from Brooklyn, N.Y. and was a clothing merchandise director. Survivors include his son, Ronald, Kingston, N.Y. Ambassador Mortuary Service, Oldsmar.
DIXON, JOSEPHINE H., 92, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday (Feb. 5, 2003) at home. Born in Latrobe, Pa., she came here 26 years ago from Arlington, Va. She was a homemaker and member of St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church. Survivors include her son, Tom, Spring Hill; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. MOORE, EARL, 85, of Brooksville, died Wednesday (Feb. 5, 2003) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, Brooksville. Born in Mallie, Ky., he came here in 1980 from Hindman, Ky. He was the owner/operator of Moore's Hardware, Lackey, Ky. and an Army Air Corps veteran. He was a founder and board member of Calvary College, Letcher, Ky., board member Open Door Children's Home, Cornettsville, Ky., and Cumberland Mountain Mission, Martin, Ky. He attended Central Park Baptist Church and had been a deacon. TANKERSLEY, ETHEL RUTH VARNADOE, 87, of Brooksville, died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003) at Kindred Hospital Tampa. Born in Lumber City, Ga., she came to Florida in 1930. She was a nurse with Hernando County, an operator for Southern Bell, member Brooksville Regional Hospital Ladies Auxiliary, member RSVP volunteer program since 1972, volunteer for meals-on-wheels and member Brooksville Assembly of God Church. MANEY, MARLENE TUVELL, 53, of Wichita Falls, Texas, formerly of Tampa, died Tuesday (Feb. 4, 2003). He was a retired salesman for Powell's Camera Mart, Highland Park, Ill., and was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Tarpon Springs Moose Lodge. He was Lutheran. TUHILL, WANDA H., 80, of New Port Richey, died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003) at Morton Plant North Bay Hospital, New Port Richey. Born in Clarksburg, W.Va., she came here 18 years ago from Dale City, Va. She was a computer specialist for the federal government and a member of NARFE. She was a member of the Maryland Club and the Republican Club, and attended the First United Methodist Church of New Port Richey. He was a musician and teacher. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Emmanuel Community Church American Baptist, Palm Harbor. He was a conductor for the Clearwater Symphony Orchestra, Richey Community Orchestra and the Dunedin Concert Band. He was an electrical engineer and worked for Honeywell, Sperry and Group Tech corporations and was a professor of electrical engineering at University of South Florida. He was an Air Force veteran. He worked in hotel management for more than 25 years. He was Lutheran and was a member of several drum and bugle corps in Michigan. He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and came here in 1983 from Port Chester, N.Y. He owned an auto body repair shop in Hawthorne, N.Y. He was a member of Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, Safety Harbor, and was an Army veteran. - BILODEAU, MARGARET, 82, of Largo, died Wednesday (Feb. 5, 2003) at Hospice House Woodside, Pinellas Park. She was born in Farmingdale, N.Y., and came here in 1969 from Jamaica, N.Y. She retired from both Burdines and the Clearwater Beach Hotel. She was a member and librarian of St. Cecelia Catholic Church, Clearwater, a member of the Third Order of Discalced Carmelites, and a volunteer for both Head Start and the Red Cross. He was born in Athens, Greece, and came here in 1994 from Waterloo, Iowa, where he worked 30 years as a foreman for Iowa Public Service. He was a member of St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Cathedral and AHEPA, and past president of both St. Demetrius Orthodox Church and AHEPA in Waterloo. She retired after 23 years as bookkeeper for Sunshine Biscuit Co., now Keebler, Columbus, Ga. She was Baptist and enjoyed needlepoint, reading and traveling. - DIXON, GEORGE E., 76, of Tarpon Springs, died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003) at Brandon Regional Hospital. He was born in Little Falls, N.J., and came here in 1992 from New Brunswick, N.J. He was a school administrator in Franklin, N.J., and retired after 38 years of service. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Pinellas Opera League, Swiss American Society, Rutgers Alumni Association and Columbia University Alumni. Survivors include two daughters, Bonnie L. - PARRISH, JEAN, 76, of Tarpon Springs, died Thursday (Feb. 6, 2003) at home. She came here from her native Lakeland. She was a radio announcer and was a graduate of Lakeland High School. She was host of the first women's program on WLAK radio, first president of the U.S. Fleet Wives Club in Villefranche, France, and president of the Junior Women's Club. Survivors include her husband, Harvey Scott "Scotty"; two daughters, Hope Higgs and Chris Pearce, both of Tarpon Springs; and a son, Larry Parrish, Cape May, N.J.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. - CARR, RONALD JOHN, 57, of Pinellas Park, died Friday (Feb. 7, 2003) at home. He came here in 1953 from his native Morristown, N.J. He owned a durable medical equipment company in St. Petersburg. He was a member of Northwest Presbyterian Church. He was a volunteer coach for the Pinellas Park Youth Football League. He was the first lung transplant patient at Tampa General Hospital in June 2002.
