Hernando digest: County household hazardous waste disposal day is Feb. 22
SPRING HILL -- A household hazardous waste collection day will be from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feb. 22 at the West Transfer Station, 2525 Osowaw Blvd. There will be no charge to Hernando County residents for disposal of their waste. The cost for hazardous waste from "conditionally exempt small quantity generators" will be at the same rate as the county's contract with US Liquids, which will accept the waste. Prices for hazardous chemical removal and disposal are available from Hernando County Waste Management Division at 14450 Landfill Road, Brooksville. The collection day is jointly sponsored by Waste Management and the Hernando County Commission. Call Jeff Howley, 754-4112, ext. 116.
