  • BAUER, LT. COL. MAURICE H., 85, of Crystal River, died Thursday (Feb. 13, 2003) at Brentwood Healthcare in Lecanto. Born in North English, Iowa, he came here 35 years ago from Tampa. He was a retired Air Force lieutenant colonel with 27 years of service, and a 1965 graduate of Louisiana State University with a degree in business administration. He was a member of Inglis/Yankeetown Lions Club, Shriners, Retired Officers Association, and Republican Club of Inglis. Survivors include his wife, Viola (Bloom); a son, Bruce, Pecos, Texas; a daughter, M. Nancy Richards, Washington, D.C.; a step-son, James Wolfe; and two grandchildren.   • DIBARTOLO, JOSEPHINE MURRAY, 67, of Crystal River, died Thursday (Feb. 13, 2003) at home under the care of family and Hospice of Citrus County. Born in Manhattan, N.Y., she came here in 1981 from Bloomingdale, N.J. She was a retired certified nurses assistant and a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church. She was a retired executive secretary for Liberty Mutual Life Insurance Co. and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Parish. She was a retired school secretary, a member of VFW Post 4337 Auxiliary, Eagles Aerie 3992, and Moose Lodge 2112, all of Inverness, and a Protestant.   • LEE, ROGER STEVEN SR., 67, of Floral City, died Saturday (Feb. 15, 2003) at Citrus Health and Rehab Center, Inverness.   • MCDONALD, EUGENE HAROLD, 75, of Inverness, died Friday (Feb. 14, 2003) Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness. Born in Sullivan, Ind., he came here in 1998 from Bradenton. He was retired from the ministry with 35 years of service with Evangelical Friends Quaker Church in several locations, an Army veteran of World War II, and attended Hernando Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Norma; a son, David, Beaverton, Ore.; a daughter, Marilyn Binford, Greenleaf, Idaho; his mother, Alice Cole, Inverness; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.   • SCHREINER, KENNETH C., 83, of Beverly Hills, died Thursday (Feb. 13, 2003) in Beverly Hills. Born in Chicago, he came here in 1985 from Glenview, Ill. He was an electrical contractor, owned and operated Lynn Electrical, Glenview, for 40 years, and was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II. A B-17 pilot, he was shot down during his 18th mission, captured and transferred to Stalag Luft III near Sagan, Germany, where he remained in captivity for 14 months. He was a member of West Central Florida Chapter of American Ex-Prisoners of War, Beverly Hills Fishing Club, Lions Club, Glenview, where he received the Badge of Honor for volunteerism, member and president in 1966 of North Suburban Electrical Contractors Association, Glenview, a volunteer and donor of his electrical services for 11 years for the Festival of Lights, which are displayed around the grounds of the Beverly Hills Recreational Association during the holidays, author of the Builders Code of Electrical Standards for Glenview, and first event organizer of the Adopt-A-Shore program in Crystal River. Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Catherine; two sons, Ronald, Lake Villa, Ill., and Jon, Mosinee, Wis.; a daughter, Janet Schreiner, Waukegan, Ill.; eight grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; and many nieces and nephews.   • THOMPSON, DONALD G. "DON," 64, of Lecanto, died Wednesday (Feb. 12, 2003) at home under the care of family and Hospice of Citrus County. Born in Garrett, Ind., he came here three years ago from Hudson, Ind. He was retired with 30 years of service for Assembly and Repair Division with Navistar (International Harvester) and a Marine Corps veteran. He was a 1958 graduate of Garrett High School.   • BERZINSKI, CLEMENT, 74, of Spring Hill, died Thursday (Feb. 13, 2003) at home. Born in Mount Carmel, Pa., he was a retired buyer for the Monsanto Co., an Army veteran of World War II, and a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening, caring for his home and lawn, cooking, watching and playing sports, especially softball and bowling, and spending time with family and friends. He was an elevator inspector for the New York City Housing Authority, an Army veteran of the Korean war, and a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. He was a building and grounds maintanence worker for the University of South Florida, a veteran of the Marine Corps Reserves, and Roman Catholic. Survivors include his father, Albert C.   • GARVEY, MARTHA J., 92, of Spring Hill, died Friday (Feb. 14, 2003) at Spring Hill Regional Hospital. Born in Liverpool, England, she came here three years ago from Natick, Mass.   • DICKSON, MICHAEL H., 49, of Riverview, died Thursday (Feb. 13, 2003) at Life Path Hospice House. He was a lifelong resident of Tampa. He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War and was an avid flier. Survivors include his wife, Linda Dickson, Riverview; three sons, Mike, St. Petersburg, Colby, Tampa, and Mack, Riverview; a daughter, Megan Dickson, Tampa; two brothers, Patrick, Orlando, and Wesley, New Orleans; and a sister, Debbie Boudreau, Valrico.   • NEES, FREDERICK M., 78, of Tampa, died Thursday (Feb. 13, 2003) at his home in Redington Shores. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He played professional baseball for the Washington Senators and the St. Louis Cardinals. He was a member of the Professional Ballplayers Association of America. He was an income tax consultant until 1956, and he retired from Seaboard Coastline Railroad in 1981. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Nees, Tampa; two daughters, Joyce Ritchie and Barbara Schreiber, both of Tampa; two brothers, Bob, of Denver, and Carl, of Baltimore; and three grandchildren.   • REGISTER, CURTIS CRAVER, 91, of Plant City, formerly of Tarpon Springs and Dunedin, died Friday (Feb. 14, 2003) at Tampa General Hospital. He was born in Tarpon Springs where he lived before moving to Clearwater in 1964, to Dunedin in 1973, and later to Plant City in 1980. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a 1929 graduate of Tarpon Springs High School. He was plant foreman at Stauffer Chemical Co. in Tarpon Springs. He was a Baptist, a member of Tarpon Masonic Lodge F&AM No. 112, the American Legion Post No. 46 and the Old Timers Club. Survivors include two daughters, Katherine Register and Darlene Kennedy, both of Plant City; a brother, Woody, Dunedin; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was retired with 17 years of service as a construction repairman for the Westin Innisbrook Resort. He was an Army veteran and served from 1946-48.     • DUGAN, HARRY M., 73, of Clearwater, died Tuesday (Feb. 11, 2003). He was born in Akron, Ohio, and retired from Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. after 33 years of service. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary Jane Drumm Dugan; two sons, Michael, Ridgecrest, Calif., and William, Clearwater; a daughter, Helen Louise Dugan Mosley, Akron; and seven grandchildren, Adams Mason Memorial Chapel, Akron.
    • HOMRIGHOUS, FAYE A., 84, of Clearwater, died Friday (Feb. 14, 2003) at The Oaks of Clearwater. She was born in Oak Park, Ill., and came here in 1974 from Wheaton, Ill. She was an English teacher for Glenbard Secondary School, Glen Ellyn, Ill. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Clearwater, where she was involved in Sunday school classes. She was a volunteer for Morton Plant Hospital and docent for Heritage Park. Survivors include three sisters, Vera Homrighous, Arlington Heights, Ill., and Mary Homrighous and Esther Larom, both of Brooklyn Park, Minn.     • JOHNSON, ORIN "O.P.J.," 75, of Leesburg, formerly of Clearwater, died Wednesday (Feb. 12, 2003) at home under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. He was a seasonal visitor from Dubuque, Iowa, since 1993. He was a salesman and owned and operated a restaurant and bar in Dubuque. Survivors include three sons, Donald, Leesburg, Kenneth, Holiday, and David, Wisconsin; two daughters, Diane E.     • LATIMER, FRED CHRISTIE, 68, of Clearwater, died Wednesday (Feb. 12, 2003) at home. He was born in Independence, Mo., and came here in 1983 from Denver. He retired as a salesman from Sunshine Biscuits bakery in Kansas City, Mo., after 20 years of service. He served in the Army, was a member of St. John Episcopal Church, Clearwater, and graduated from William Christman High School, Missouri, in 1953. Survivors include two sons; Greg and Larry Lee Latimer, both of Kansas City, Mo.; and a brother, William Lee Latimer, Clearwater.     • SCHAAL, ARTHUR FREDERICK "POPPY," 91, of Clearwater, died Thursday (Feb. 13, 2003) at Tandem Health Care of Safety Harbor under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. He was born in New York City and came here in 1973 from Queens, N.Y. He retired from Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. after 35 years of service. He was a charter member of St. Matthias Lutheran Church, Clearwater. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving as sergeant in an anti-aircraft unit. He was a member of DAV Chapter 11, Clearwater, and VFW Post 10093, Safety Harbor, a commander of Edward and James White VFW Post 10304, Clearwater, and was a volunteer at the Channel Marker for the Blind. Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Ruth; a daughter, Judy Clark, Clearwater; two grandchildren, Wayne Clark, Clearwater, and Lynne Penninger, St. Petersburg; a great-granddaughter; two nieces and a nephew.     • REGISTER, CURTIS CRAVER, 91, of Plant city, formerly of Dunedin, Clearwater and Tarpon Springs, died Friday (Feb. 14, 2003) at Tampa General Hospital. He was born in Tarpon Springs, came to Clearwater in 1964, moved to Dunedin in 1973 and moved to Plant city in 1980. He was a plant foreman at Stauffer Chemical Co., Tarpon Springs, for 26 years. He was a 1929 graduate of Tarpon Springs High School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and a member of First Baptist Church of Tarpon Springs, Tarpon Masonic Lodge 112 F&AM, American Legion Post 46, Tarpon Springs, Old-Timers Club, Tarpon Springs.     • BALDANZA, ANNA, 51, of Palm Harbor, died Thursday (Feb. 13, 2003) at home. She was born in England and came here in 1989 from Clifton, N.J. She was a controller for a medical staffing company and was Catholic. Survivors include her husband, Jerry; a son, Jeremy, Largo; a daughter, Taryn Jones, St. Petersburg; and a sister, Jean Danyl, Pompton Plains, N.J. Curlew Hills Funeral Home, Palm Harbor.
    • NELAN, MARY ELIZABETH WOODWORTH, 93, of Palm Harbor, died Thursday (Feb. 13, 2003) at home under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. She was born in Wilkinsburg, Pa., and came here in 1978 from Washington, Pa. She taught high school in Connellsville, Wilkinsburg and Washington school systems in Pennsylvania. She was an avid traveler and a member of Palm Harbor United Methodist Church, Palm Harbor Newcomers Alumnae, Hamerschlag Heritage Society, Warner Legacy, Alpha Delta Kappa Sorority, Delta Pi Epsilon Fraternity, Pittsburgh College Club, American Association of University Women, Tuesday Musical Club of Pittsburgh and a charter member of the Women's Club of Highland Lakes, Southern Club, Swim Club and Yacht Club.     • TATH, CONSTANCE N., 66, of Palm Harbor, died Wednesday (Feb. 12, 2003) at home under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. She was born in Sullivan County, Ind., and came here in 1994 from Brighton, Mich. She was a stylist at the JC Penney Salon at Countryside Mall and a member of Palm Harbor United Methodist Church. She was a member of OES No. 5 and an associate member of First Congregational Church of St. Petersburg, where she was a member of the women's association and the Diaconate. He was born in New Philadelphia, Ohio, and came here in 1963 from DeWittville, N.Y. he was a U.S. Postal Service mail carrier for more than 30 years in St. Petersburg.
