A musical bridge
Twenty-three-year-old jazz chanteuse Norah Jones came away the big winner Sunday at the 45th annual Grammy Awards, a ceremony that may finally put to rest those "Granny Award" jokes that music snobs have been issuing for decades. Jones, whose jazzy Come Away With Me won Album of the Year over records by rock icon Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, and controversial, critically acclaimed rapper Eminem, swept every category for which she was nominated, tying Lauryn Hill and Alicia Keys for most wins by a female artist in a single night. All told, she scored five individual Grammys; her album netted a total of eight.
