BUTLER, RALPH M., 86, of Dunnellon, died Friday (Feb. 28, 2003) in Lecanto. Born in Macon, Ga., he came here 60 years ago from Dunedin. He was a registered railroad agent for Atlantic Coastline, Seabord Coastline and Amtrak, and was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dunnellon. He was past master of Dunnellon Masonic Lodge 136 F&AM and was a former Boy Scout Troop leader. Survivors include his wife, Frances H.; a son, Ralph M. CADWALLADER, BYRON PAUL, 71, of Spring Hill, died Friday (March 7, 2003) in Devons, Mass. He was born in Indianapolis and was the owner of Crystal River Electric. Survivors include his companion, Heather Steel, Spring Hill; two daughters, Kimberly Sereda, Miami, and Lisa Kay Nelson, Inverness; a son, Byron P. ELLIS, JOHN "JACK", 80, of Hernando, died Wednesday (March 5, 2003). Born in Raleigh, N.C., he came here 20 years ago from Charlotte, N.C. He was fire chief for the city of Charlotte, and a member of First Baptist Church and its sanctuary choir, Inverness. He was an Army veteran of World War II and Korean War, past president and life member of the International Association of Fire Chiefs, a life member of Santos Veterans of Foreign Wars and a member of Citrus Masonic Lodge 118 F&AM, both of Ocala, Oasis Shrine Temple, Charlotte, and Charlotte Consistory Scottish Rite Mason. Survivors include his wife, Wanda Claudine Dempsey Lee; a son John Edward "Ed," Lecanto; a daughter Jo "Josey" Greenland, Dallas; a brother, Robert E. GARDNER, ALVIN EUGENE "GENE", 72, of Floral City, died Wednesday (March 5, 2003) at Seven Rivers Community Hospital, Crystal River. He came here seven years ago from his native Tampa and was a retired master mechanic for Vopak Industries, Tampa. He was an Army veteran serving in the Korea War, and was a member of Too Far and the Withlapopka Civic Association. He was Baptist. PLONSKI, BERNARD JAMES, 82, of Floral City, died Thursday (March 6, 2003) at the Citrus Health and Rehabilitation Center, Inverness. He came here 12 years ago from his native Erie, Pa. and was owner/operator of B&J Forging, Springboro, Pa. He was Methodist. Survivors include a son, John W., Erie; two daughters, Diane Mattern, Floral City, and Judith Marie DeChant, Sergoville, Texas; a sister, Helen J. He was a retired employee at St. Barnabas Hospital, Orange, N.J., He was an Army veteran of the Korea War, and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, Orange, and the Moose Lodge, New Jersey. He was Catholic. WALLACE, PETER W., 62, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday (March 4, 2003) at home. Born in Quantico, Va., he came here three years ago from Clearwater and was self employed in the hospitality business. WALSH, EDWARD J., 71, of Spring Hill, died Thursday (March 6, 2003) at Spring Hill Regional Hospital. Born in New York City, he came here 14 years ago from Broad Channel, N.Y. He was a retired officer with the Department of Sanitation, Rockaway Beach, N.Y., and was a member of Christ Presbyterian Church, Broad Channel. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the Department of Sanitation Retirees of Spring Hill. He was a Navy veteran serving in World War II, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, the Masonic Lodge and the Eagles. He was Lutheran. He was a veteran of the Navy Merchant Marines, serving in World War II, and was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters. He was born in Arista, W.Va., and came here in 1976 from Beckley, W.Va., where he worked as a coal operator for Corder Smokeless Coal Co. and JoAnn Coal Co. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was Protestant and a Master Mason member of Lodge 156 in Coal City. Survivors include a son, William R., Clearwater; and three grandchildren. - COSTER, HAZEL S., 90, of Dunedin, died Friday (March 7, 2003) at Mease Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor. She was born in Westfield, N.J., and came here in 1982 from Lakewood, N.J. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Union Street United Methodist Church of Clearwater and the Bay Bouquet Garden Club of Dunedin.
