  • DALY, JAMES W., 81, of Crystal River, formerly of Tampa, died Tuesday (March 11, 2003) at Munroe Regional Medical Center, Ocala. Born in Augusta, Ga., he came here 37 years ago from Tampa. He retired from the wholesale lumber industry and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was Catholic. He was an electrical engineer for Hilton Hotels and retired as an independent importing and exporting consultant. He was a Coast Guard veteran. He was Methodist. She was a bookkeeper for West Pasco Title & Abstract, New Port Richey. She was a WAVE veteran of World War II. She was a retired hospital secretary and a member of Business & Professional Woman's Club. She was a former justice of the peace and the first woman pilot in Somerset County, Pa. She was Lutheran. He retired as national accounts manager after 41 years with E.I. DuPont, Wilmington, Del. He was an Army veteran of World War II, and received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He graduated from Lehigh University, Bethlehem, Pa., with a mining engineer degree. He was a member of Psi Upsilon fraternity and the Mining Club of New York City and London.     • MacDONALD, CATHERINE F., 80, of Dunedin, died Wednesday (March 12, 2003) at Manor Care Dunedin nursing home. She was born in Cambridge, Mass., and came here in 1980 after she retired from the Coast Guard as a lieutenant commander. He was born in Oak Park where he retired as lieutenant in the Fire Department. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and Catholic.     • DOYEL, LOIS S., 82, of Largo, died Tuesday (March 11, 2003) at Blue Sky Assisted Living Facility under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. She was born in Ardmore, Okla., and came here in 1995 from Annapolis, Md. She was a retired executive secretary at a bank and worked as a secretary for the FBI in World War II. She was a member of Bay Ridge Baptist Church, the American Theater Colonial Players and the Naval Academy Masqueraders. He was born in Lima, Ohio, and came here in 1992 from Weston, Conn., where he retired as president of Decisus Software, a subsidiary of Xerox, after serving as an executive for 20 years with Xerox. He graduated from the University of Dayton and received a master's degree in finance and real estate from Ohio State University. He was Catholic and a Buccaneers fan and enjoyed photography and computers. In the early 1990s he inspired gatherings around a live oak tree at Fourth Avenue S and 32nd Street after cleaning up the property. On weekends, crowds met for food and entertainment.
