  • BONNER, ETHEL F., 78, of Beverly Hills, died Thursday (March 13, 2003) in Beverly Hills. Born in Atlanta, she came here eight years ago from Miami. She was a teacher's assistant for a private nursery and grade school in Miami for 22 years. She was a member of the Beverly Hills Recreation Association and Garden Club. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Beverly Hills. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Thomas E. Bonner Sr.; a son, Thomas E.   • GEGENHEIMER, JACK W., 76, of Spring Hill, died Tuesday (March 11, 2003) at Kindred Hospital Central in Tampa. Born in Olean, N.Y., he came here in 1988 from Virginia. He retired from United Airlines with 30 years of service and was a Marines Corps veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Parachute Club, the American Legion and was Baptist. His interest was in airplanes. Survivors include his wife, Elsie; a daughter, Brenda Lee Takehara, Pearl City, Hawaii; a son, Jack William Gegenheimer II, San Jose, Calif.; two brothers, Richard and Harry, both of Spring Hill; and three sisters, June Lentz and Alice Gilbert, both of North Carolina, and Roberta Labrun, Virginia. He retired from Niagara Mohawk Power and Light with 36 years of service. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening.   • GONZALO, AMADOR, 69, of Land O'Lakes, formerly of Tampa, died Thursday (March 13, 2003) at University Community Hospital. Born in Tampa, he moved to Land O'Lakes 20 years ago. He was a graduate of Jesuit High School and retired from the Tampa Fire Department as district chief in 1980 after 26 years of service. He served as emergency services director of Pasco County for 13 years and had the Pasco County fire department training center named in his honor.   • JORDAN, WILLIAM "BILL," 64, of Hudson, died Thursday (March 13, 2003) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Brooksville. Born in Louisa, Ky., he came here 16 years ago from Daytona Beach. He was employed by Terry Taylor Ford Lincoln Mercury in Daytona Beach and built many engines for 24 hours of Daytona. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a life member of NRA and the North American Hunting Association. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and NASCAR. He was Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Toni "Lucy"; three sons, Tyee, Hudson; David, Peacedale, R.I.; and Bobby, St. Albans, W.Va.; three brothers, David, Parker, Colo.; Gary, Racine, Ohio; and Brian, California; and a sister, Anita Jordan, Fort Myers.   • THOMPSON, IVIN W. SR., 76, of Zephyrhills, died Wednesday (March 12, 2003) at home under the care of Hernando-Pasco Hospice. Born in Ashippun, Wis., he came here in 1991 from Campbellsport, Wis. He was an electrician in appliance manufacturing. He was an Army veteran of World War II and served in the 101st Airborne Division and Company E 325th Glider Infantry Regiment. He was a 16-year member of the American Legion and was Lutheran. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, June J.; two daughters, Linda June Janssen, St. Pete Beach, and Pamela Kay Calliari, St. Petersburg; a son, Ivin W. She was born in Saginaw, Mich., and came here in 1972 from Flint, Mich. She worked 36 years as a data processor for General Motors. She had been a member of Chapel by the Sea since 1971 and was a past president of its women's auxiliary and a volunteer at Morton Plant Hospital since 1981. He was Baptist and an avid boater and water sports enthusiast. He retired from Scotty's where he had worked in contractor sales. He served in World War II as an Army lieutenant and received a Purple Heart, Bronze Star and Combat Infantryman's Badge. He was a member of Disabled American Veterans. He was an avid golfer and a former member of Florida State Golf Association. Survivors include his wife of 39 years, Gladys; a daughter, Sharon Mizell, Tarpon Springs; a son, Gary, Palm Harbor; a brother, Wallace, Sun City, Ariz.; a sister, Margaret Zamp, Niles, Ill.; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was a postal clerk at the Open Air Post Office in St. Petersburg for 35 years and was a union president. He was a World War II Army veteran and a town commissioner of Redington Shores from 1972 to 1974. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Moraima; two sons, Dennis B. and Alan D., both of Seminole; two daughters, Tanya M. Llano, Columbus, Ga., and Kathleen L. She was a homemaker and a member of Roberts Adult Center, where she enjoyed making ceramics and playing Scrabble. She was a Catholic. Survivors include two sons, Dennis M. Austgen, Safety Harbor, and Kurt B. Austgen, St. Petersburg; and a daughter, Lynette A. Coley, a grandson, Ryan D. Coley, and two granddaughters, Carley N. Austgen and Summer B.     • HEITFIELD, THERON CHRISTOPHER "CHRIS," 38, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday (March 11, 2003) at St. Petersburg General Hospital. Born in Indianapolis, he came here in 1972 from Connersville, Ind. He was a student and a Catholic. He was a 1983 graduate of Clearwater Central Catholic High School, a 1999 graduate of St. Petersburg Junior College and graduated in 2001 from the University of South Florida with bachelor of arts degrees in science and psychology. He was a past vice president of Phi Theta Kappa at SPJC and was past president of its alumni chapter at USF. She was a member of Theta Phi Alpha sorority and the Indian Rocks Homeowners Association. She was past president of the Indian Rocks Beach Library. She was a volunteer at the Center Against Spouse Abuse in St. Petersburg. She was a radio announcer for WTAN in Clearwater from 1989 to 1990. She was recognized in the 1980 Who's Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.     • PINDER, OSCAR C., 78, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday (March 13, 2003) at the VA Medical Center at Bay Pines. He came here in 1960 from his native Chester, Pa., where he was a maintenance worker for the Havertown School District. He also was an orderly at Mound Park Hospital and later worked in the housekeeping department at Bayfront Medical Center. Most recently he was a night clerk at Crystal Bay Hotel. He was a World War II Navy veteran and a Pearl Harbor survivor. He was a member of American Legion Post 273 in Madeira Beach and the DAV and attended St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife of 43 years, June W.; a daughter, Jeanette Hashmi, Turbin Canyon, Calif.; and two grandchildren. Brett Funeral Home & Cremation Services, St. Petersburg.
    • SARLES, ALBERTINE M. "TINA," 90, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday (March 13, 2003). Born in Mobile, Ala., she came here in 1967 from Miami. She was a homemaker. She was Episcopalian. Survivors include two sons, Maurice L. Jr., Hendersonville, N.C., and Donald C., Osteen; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.     • TENNELL, MICHAEL TYRONE, 37, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday (March 13, 2003) at St. Petersburg General Hospital. He was a St. Petersburg native and a 1985 graduate of Pinellas Park High School. He was a former pressman at the St. Petersburg Times and was a member of Faith Memorial Missionary Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Dontreal Tennell, two daughters, Latoya Tennell and Keosha Tennell, his mother, Doris Washington, three brothers, Gary Washington, Frederick Washington and Kenneth Reeves, and two sisters, Gwendolyn Washington and Sheila Summers, all of St. Petersburg.     • TOTTEN, LORRAINE MARIAN, 86, of St. Petersburg, died Friday (March 7, 2003). Born in Beardtown, Ill., she came here 25 years ago. She was a motel manager in Birmingham, Ala., for 13 years.     • YOUNG, DELBERT M., 81, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday (March 12, 2003) at home under hospice care. Born in Salamanca, N.Y., he came here in 1979 from Jamestown, N.Y. He was a truck driver and engine repairman for Biltmore Construction. He was a World War II Army veteran and a member of the VFW, American Legion Post 1286 and Moose Lodge 1145. Survivors include a son, Howard; a daughter, Georgia Wheeler; a sister, Phylis Robson; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Royal Palm Funeral Chapel & Cemetery North, St. Petersburg.

    South Pasadena

    • BOWER, FRANK W. SR., 70, of Hernando, formerly of South Pasadena and St. Pete Beach, died Thursday (March 13, 2003) at the home of a son while under the care of hospice. He was born in Staten Island, N.Y., and moved to Florida in 1968, living in St. Pete Beach for a year before moving to South Pasadena. He moved to Crystal River about 10 years ago. He worked in sales at Colonial Dodge in St. Petersburg and in insurance. He was a South Pasadena city commissioner from 1973-76. He was instrumental in building the current City Hall and in bringing a Pinellas County Sheriff's Office station to South Pasadena, his family said. He was a Catholic and a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of New Life Family Prayer Center, Crystal River, and Knights of Columbus. He was a past district commander of the VFW. He coached Little League baseball and Azalea League football. Survivors include four sons, Pastor Frank Jr., Hernando, Vincent, Bradenton, Anthony, Crystal River, and Shannon, Ocala; a daughter, Virginia Geisler, Crystal River; a brother, Bill, Hamilton Square, N.J.; and 13 grandchildren.     Treasure Island

    • BARRY, LAWRENCE B. "JOE," 76, of Treasure Island, died Wednesday (March 12, 2003) at the Springs at Boca Ciega Bay. Born in England, he came here in 1987 from New York City, where he was a computer engineer for Amtrak for 10 years. Before, he worked 20 years on a cruise ship as a printer. He was Episcopalian. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Minnie; and two sisters, Joan Hunt, Australia, and Dene Mason, England. National Cremation Society, Largo.
