LECANTO -- Two men, both age 18, were arrested Thursday and accused of threatening two other students with a gun at the Lecanto school complex. One of the victims told a Citrus County Sheriff's Office deputy that Ryan Andrew Avery of Homosassa pulled the gun from the glove box of a car he rode in. The deputy stopped the car and determined there was a loaded gun there, an arrest report showed. Marijuana also was found in the ashtray and in Avery's shorts. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and remained at the Citrus County jail Friday in lieu of $25,000 bail. Avery and the driver of the car, Jeffrey Francis Allyn of Citrus Springs, both were charged with possession of a weapon on school property, possession of marijuana and altering a firearm because the serial number had been altered or removed. Allyn was released from the jail Thursday after posting $6,000 bail.
