KOPP, BARBARA ANN, 54, of Spring Hill, died Saturday (March 29, 2003) at home. Born in Astoria, N.Y., she came here 14 years ago from Medford, N.Y. She was a registered nurse for 30 years. She was head nurse at Lakeland Regional Hospital and one of the original registered nurses at Oak Hill Hospital. She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, David; two sons, Jeffrey, Crystal River, and James, Spring Hill; three daughters, Sarah Egan and Vanessa Kopp, both of Tampa, and Rachel McVay, Spring Hill; her parents, Alfred and Marie Wolf, Spring Hill; two brothers, Robert Wolf, Tampa, and Alfred Wolf Jr., Cobbs Landing; a sister, Marie Lucier, Spring Hill; and three grandchildren. LIPPERT, SUNDERLAND MARIE, 54, of Crystal River, died Friday (March 28, 2003) at home. She was born in Pensacola and was a registered nurse. She was an avid reader, talented painter and enjoyed handcrafts. She enjoyed golfing, swimming and walking. She was Protestant. Survivors include her husband, Dennis R.; two daughters, Madalyn Marie Wilson, Reno, Nev., and Laurel Gengler, South Salem, N.Y.; a brother, Eric Weiland Jr., Little Rock, Ark.; a sister, Camille Craddock, Fort Smith, Ark.; and three grandchildren. McMURRAY, JAMES A., 87, of Beverly Hills, died Saturday (March 29, 2003) in Inverness. Born in County Armaugh, Ireland, he came here in 1988 from Chelmsford, Mass. He was a painter who retired from Chelmsford Construction with 20 years of service. He served with the British Royal Artillery during World War II and fought in Burma. He was a member of the British Legion, Burma Star Association and was Protestant. He loved the outdoors and animals. Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Pauline A.; two sons, Robert, Beverly Hills, and Paul, Rochester, England; a daughter, Angela McMurray, Crystal River; five grandchildren and three stepgrandsons; and one great-grandson. NILSSON, PAULINE SANDERS "POLLY," 90, of Homosassa, died Sunday (March 30, 2003) at Surrey Place of Lecanto. Born in Crawford, Ga., she came here in 1957 from Atlanta. She was the former owner of Polly's Beauty Shop of Homosassa and a substitute postal carrier for the Homosassa post office. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Homosassa. WALSH, CATHERINE BURKE, 71, of Inverness, died Friday (March 28, 2003) in Inverness. Born in Bronx, N.Y., she came here in 1970 from Manhattan, N.Y. She was a retired home health care aide. She was instrumental in the founding of the original Catholic Church in Inverness. Survivors include a son, Kevin Richard, and two daughters, Eileen Elizabeth Walsh and Maureen Patricia Walsh, all of Tallahassee. Hooper Funeral Homes, Inverness.
WINKLER, DAVID AUSTIN, 49, of Inverness, died Friday (March 28, 2003) at home. He came here 29 years ago from his native Akron, Ohio. He was a veteran of the Marine Corps and Army. He was Catholic. BARKER, LAURENCE JR., 58, of Valrico, died Friday (March 28, 2003). He was born in Bloomington, Del., and moved to Valrico from Dallas. He worked as assistant area director at the Department of Labor. BISHOP, DEANE HARDIN, 56, of Tampa, died Thursday (March 27, 2003). He was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was also a retired captain with the Temple Terrace Fire Department with over 25 years of service. SCHAUER, WILLIAM EDWARD, 88, of Tampa, died Friday (March 28, 2003) at Tampa General Hospital. Born in Williamsburg, Pa., he later moved to the area. He was a Navy veteran, a general foreman, a member of the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion. Survivors include a son, William Jr., Tampa; two daughters, Judie L. SHEPARD, ALBERT D., 71, of St. Petersburg, formerly of Tampa, died Wednesday (March 26, 2003) at St. Anthony's Hospital. He was born in Concord, N.H., and came to the Tampa Bay area in 1970. He worked as a nursing home administrator for more than 45 years. DAVIS, ERNEST C. SR., 77, of Port Richey, died Friday (March 28, 2003) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice, New Port Richey. Born in Sarver, W.Va., he came here 16 years ago from Hampton, Va. He retired from wholesale sales delivery and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a former Salvation Army officer and a soldier of the West Pasco Salvation Army. HULL, PEARL A. JR. "LOCK," 48, of Holiday, formerly of Clearwater, died Wednesday (March 26, 2003) in Palm Harbor as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born in Kenosha, Wis., and had been a winter resident here since 1987 from Suffield, Conn. He was a retired president and chief executive officer of Conval Inc., Somers, Conn. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a graduate of the Naval Academy, Annapolis, Md. He received a master's degree in automotive engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Mass., and took an advanced management program course at Harvard Business School. - CHRISTY, JAMES VINCENT, 82, of Pinellas Park, died Sunday (March 30, 2003) at a daughter's home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he moved here in 1987 from Staunton, Va. He graduated from the Military Academy at West Point in 1943 and retired as a lieutenant colonel after 24 years in the Army. He was a veteran of World War II, in which he served in the Battle of the Bulge, and the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a member of the 101st Airborne Division. He was a public school teacher in Staunton, Va. After retirement, he served as commandant at Augusta Military Academy and commander of the Military Order of the World Wars. He was a member of the Military Officers Association of America, the American Legion in Clearwater and Mensa in Tampa. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Marjorie R.; two sons, James J., Oakland, Calif., and John P., Seattle; a daughter, Carol Valaes, Brandon; and a sister, Mary Ehrnst, Grand Blanc, Mich.
