  • BLACK, MALCOLM MICHAEL, 79, of Crystal River, died Wednesday (April 2, 2003) at home. Born in Flushing, N.Y., he came here 17 years ago from Long Island, N.Y. He was a retired foreman for New York Telephone Co. and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a life member of Blanton-Thompson American Legion Post 155, and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8189 Crystal River and the West Citrus Elks Lodge 2693. He was Catholic. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Muriel Anne (Schumacher); four sons, Michael, England, Jeffrey, Marietta, Ga., Carey, Missoula, Mont., and Malcolm, Scappoose, Ore.; two daughters, Patricia Black, Bemidji, Minn., and Deirdre Black, Missoula; and nine grandchildren.   • CHICKO, THOMAS, 93, of Ozello, died Wednesday (April 2, 2003) at Crystal River Health Center. Born in New York City, he came here 25 years ago from Monticello, N.Y. He was a retired excavation contractor and owned Chicko Construction in Monticello. He was Catholic.   • DEW, HARTWELL ALLEN JR., 76, of Crystal River, died Monday (March 31, 2003) at home. Born in Anniston, Ala., he came here 38 years from Miami. He was a retired supply salesman for Jacksonville Marine Supply. He was an Army lieutenant and veteran who served in World War II and the Korea War. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 388 F&AM and a life member of Disabled American Veterans. He was Baptist. He was a retired firefighter with the Smithfield Fire Department with more than 23 years of service. He was a Marine Corps veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Firefighters Association, Mechanics Association of New England and a charter member of the Smithfield Fire Department. Survivors include his wife, Donna E. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Inverness where she was an active choir member. He was a member of Delta Alpha Chapter of Phi Kappa, past president of Columbia Forum Club, former president of Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad and member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church. She was an office worker at General Electric, Lynn, Mass. with 20 years of service, and past member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. She owned the Same Place Tavern and Hargers Fish Co. in St. Petersburg for 15 years. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 125.     • SAHLI, ELSIE "LUCILLE," 86, of St. Petersburg, died Friday (March 28, 2003) at Carrington Place Convalescent Center. Born in East Prairie, Mo., she came here in 1984 from Gary, Ind.     • SCHOOLCRAFT, ROY W., 88, of Johnstown, N.Y., a seasonal resident of St. Petersburg, died Saturday (March 29, 2003) at St. Petersburg General Hospital. He was born in Gloversville, N.Y.     • TRAYWICK, HAROLD LEE JR., 21, of St. Petersburg, died Monday (March 31, 2003) as the result of a shooting. He came here from his native Davenport, Iowa. He attended Gibbs High School. Survivors include his mother, Laulani Traywick, St. Petersburg, and his father, Harold Traywick Sr., Davenport; four brothers, Mario, Shane and Te'omas, all of St. Petersburg, and Pick, Davenport; a sister, Ashley Holcomb, Davenport; his maternal grandfather, William Jetter, Davenport; his paternal grandmother, Nellie Roberts, Davenport; and his maternal great-great-grandmother, Grandma Jetter, Clinton, Iowa.     • ULRICH, ROBERT P., 76, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday (April 2, 2003) at Bayfront Medical Center. Born in New Jersey, he came here in 1968 from Iselin, N.J. He was a supervisor for Sun Terrace Manufacturing in Largo. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was Catholic. Survivors include his wife, Loretta; a daughter, Karen Ulrich, St. Petersburg; a brother, George Ulrich, Syracuse, N.Y.; and a sister, Joan Molinaro, North Arlington, N.J.     • WILLIAMS, JANET JENKINS, 73, of St. Petersburg, died Wednesday (April 2, 2003) at home. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., she came here in 1969 from West Islip, N.Y. She was a secretary for Neighborly Senior Services of Clearwater. She was a member of St. Bede's Episcopal Church of St. Petersburg.
