ANTCLIFF, ADA K., 62, of Crystal River, died Saturday (April 5, 2003) at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River. Born in Rodney, Mich., she came here 14 years ago from Big Rapids, Mich. She was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a registered nurse at Surrey Place. Survivors include two daughters, Helen L. Philman and Katherine Steagall, both of Crystal River; a sister, Sharon Giese, Big Rapids; three brothers, Steve Bolton, Reed City, Mich., Jimmy Bolton, White Cloud, Mich., and Warren Bolton, Big Rapids; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. BERRY, THOMAS HENRY, 80, of Homosassa, died Friday (April 4, 2003) at Cypress Cove Care Center in Crystal River. Born in Etowah, Tenn., he came here in 1979 from Marietta, Ga. He was a retired department manager for Lockheed Martin Corp. and an Army Air Force veteran of World War II. He was a member of Masonic Lodge 378 Homosassa Springs and First Baptist Church of Homosassa. Survivors include his wife, Sarah L. LAMBERT, SHIRLEY U., 79, of Crystal River, died Saturday (April 5, 2003) at Seven Rivers Community Hospital in Crystal River. Born in Norwich, Conn., she came here 12 years ago from Lisbon, Conn. She was a retired telephone operator with TET Co. and was Catholic. She was past treasurer and secretary for TSGA of Connecticut. Survivors include her husband, Gustave; two sons, John Boardman, Carthage, N.C., and Gregg Lambert, West Jefferson, Ohio; two stepsons, G. LEIGH, WALTER THOMAS II "TOMMY," 47, of Inglis, died Thursday (April 3, 2003) at Tampa General Hospital. Born in New Port Richey, he came here 39 years ago. He was a pipefitter with the Framatome Co. and worked at Florida Power. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed airboating. Survivors include two sons, Army Sgt. Walter Thomas "Trey" Leigh III, serving in Iraq, and Randall, Crawfordville; his mother, Judith Leigh, Independence, Mo.; three brothers, Timothy and Wendell, both of Homosassa, and Vernon, Independence; and a nephew, Wendell Leigh Jr., Crystal River. MARTE, HELEN, 90, of Homosassa, died Friday (April 4, 2003) in Spring Hill. Born in New York, she came here 30 years ago from Largo. She was an executive secretary for Northern Radio Co. and member of St. Thomas Church. Survivors include two brothers, John Kuduk, Andover, N.J., and Marion Kuduk, Barefoot Bay; three sisters, Mary Zacharski, Calverton, N.Y., Justine Kuduk, New York, and Stephanie Lukasiak, Oak Park, Calif.; eight nieces and nephews. ROWE, FRANKLIN DELANO "FRANK," 69, of Hernando, died Saturday (April 5, 2003) at Citrus Memorial Hospital in Inverness. Born in Neibert, W.Va., he came here in 1986 from Miami. He was a retired Air Force veteran with 17 years of service. He served during the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was the director of sales for Royal Oaks until 1997 in Inverness. He was a lifetime member of the Hernando VFW Post 4252 and was Baptist. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mildred L. (Mason); a son, Michael L., and two daughters, Lisa Hall and Tammie Bauer, all of Hernando; a sister, Lucille Hall, Huntington, W.Va.; two brothers, William, Proctorville, Ohio, and James, Huntington; and seven grandchildren. BELMONT, LEONOR, 85, of Brooksville, died Sunday (April 6, 2003) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Brooksville. Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, she came here one year ago from Pinellas County. She was a homemaker and catholic. Survivors include her daughter, Lourdes Sanchez, Spring Hill; a sister, Consuelo Malave, Puerto Rico; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. BICKEL, MAYNARD E., 84, of Brooksville, died Sunday (April 6, 2003) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in Brooksville. Born in Amherst, Wis., he came to Florida in 1957. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received disabling injuries in the Anzio Beach Head landing. He was awarded several medals including the Purple Heart while serving in the Third Infantry Division. He was a member of the American Legion and DAV. LEWIS, DAWN MARIE, 31, of Brooksville, died Saturday (April 5, 2003) at St. Joseph's Hospital, Tampa. Born in Port Jervis, N.Y., she came here 20 years ago from Dover, N.J. and was a waiter. Survivors include her husband, David; her daughter, Shannon Louise Owens, Brooksville; three sons, Christopher Maiorini, Spring Hill, Ryan Matthew and Brandon Kohl Lewis, both of Brooksville; her parents, Edward S. and Bonnie L. McDONAGH, JOHN J., 78, of Spring Hill, died Wednesday (April 2, 2003) at home. Born in Chicago, he came here 14 years ago from Oak Lawn, Ill. He retired from Commonwealth Edison with 38 years of service and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 2003, Aripeka Elks Lodge 2520 and attended St. Theresa Catholic Church. He enjoyed golf and dancing. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two daughters, Patrice LaVoie, Spring Hill, and Mary Beth Shipferling, Arlington, Texas; and three grandchildren. RUNKLE, DR. T.J. JR. "JERRY" 60, of Largo and formerly of Brooksville, died Friday (April 4, 2003) at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa. He was born in Chattahoochee, moved to Tallahassee more than 30 years ago, then moved to Brooksville in 1989 and to Largo in 1992. He was most recently assistant superintendent of finance and management for Pinellas County Schools and an adjunct professor for Nova University Southeast, National Louis University and University of South Florida. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees in math and philosophy and a doctorate in symbolic logic and education administration from Florida State University. His was formerly an assistant professor at FAMU and FSU, a planning director of Leon County Schools and deputy superintendent of Hernando County Schools. He was a member of the Superintendents cabinet for Pinellas County Schools, a member of the Florida School Finance Officers Association and was appointed by a former education commission to the Finance Council Board for Florida Schools. He was a member of St. Brendan Catholic Church, Clearwater, the FSU Booster Club, an avid traveler and a member of the Ramblin' Renegades chapter of the Florida Motor Coach Association. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Elaine G.; two sons, Jeremy F., Largo, and Todd Jr., Charlotte, N.C.; two daughters, Tori N., Largo, and Joanna R., Tampa; his parents, Jeanette and Ted Sr., Chattahoochee; two brothers, Mike, Chattahooche, and Wilton, Charlotte; a sister, Peggy Tucker, Chattahoochee; and a grandson. DAVIS, THETHEL B., 95, of Brandon, died Saturday (April 5, 2003). Born in Coalfield, Tenn., she moved to Florida in 1993 from Clinton, Tenn. She was a retired school teacher. FONTENOT, JOSEPHINE C., 71, of Brandon, died Saturday (April 5, 2003). Born in Camden, N.J., she was a member of Nativity Catholic Church and worked as a switchboard supervisor at Brandon Regional Hospital. Survivors include a son, Edward C. FRANKLIN, JOHN, 67, of Riverview, died Sunday (April 6, 2003) at Tampa General Hospital. Born in Brown County, Ill., he retired to Ruskin in 1988. He was an Air Force veteran and worked as an air traffic controller for 26 years. He was a member of the American Legion and Elks Lodge 2672. He retired from the Chautaugue County Sheriffs Department and was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran. BOOTH, EARL G., 79, of Bayonet Point, died Friday (April 4, 2003) at home. He came here 34 years ago from his native Grahamsville, N.Y. He was an insurance agent with Prudential Insurance and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Elks and AMVETS. He was a retired manager with UPS with 39 years of service. He was a Navy Seabee veteran. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. James the Apostle Catholic Church. INMAN, ROSELLA SMITH, 86, of Palm Harbor, formerly of Port Richey, died Saturday (April 5, 2003) at Mease Continuing Care in Dunedin. Born in Springfield, Tenn., she came to Palm Harbor in 1983 from Port Richey. She was a jewelry store manager in Tennessee and Florida. She was an award-winning quilter and a life member of Quilters Crossing. She was a graduate of Tulane University and received her master's in psychology from Eckerd College and Nova University. PREVITE, JOHN, 88, of New Port Richey, died Saturday (April 5, 2003) at Hernando-Pasco Hospice in New Port Richey. He came here in 2002 from his native Providence, R.I. He retired from the construction business and was an Army veteran of World War II. He attended St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Survivors include a son, John M., New Port Richey; two sisters, Anna Vona, Providence, and Catherine Procaccini, Johnston, R.I.; a brother, Sal, Providence; several nieces and nephews; and two grandsons. He was a retired postal service carrier of New Port Richey and an Army veteran. He was Lutheran. Survivors include six sons, Marvin, Marlon, Mario and Marco Carswells, Jermaine Hamm and Darrin Jackson, and four daughters, Yolanda, Michelle, Delano and Iesha Carswells, all of Clearwater; his mother, Effie Carswells, and two brothers, Edward and Melvin, all of Largo; three sisters, Margrett Smith and Thelma Solomon, both of Clearwater, and Georgia Mae Quarterman, Largo; and 12 grandchildren. - BAGLEY, STUART C., 66, of Dunedin, died Saturday (April 5, 2003) at Mease Dunedin Hospital. He was born in Ironbridge, England, and came here in 1978 from Wisconsin. He retired as a project engineer for Medical Technology Systems, Clearwater, and was a Royal Air Force veteran. He was a member of St. Alfred's Episcopal Church, Palm Harbor. He was a bagpiper and played in the Florida Celtic Pipes and Drum band and also played bagpipes and the tin whistle for weddings and other events and in several local bars including Flanagans Irish Pub in Dunedin. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Anne M.; a daughter, Helen M. Hampton, Clearwater; a son, Michael C., Palm Harbor; two brothers, Geoffrey C., Malvern Wells, England, and H. - CRITTENDEN, ANNIE, 90, of Dunedin, died Sunday (April 6, 2003) at a local nursing facility. She was born in Germantown, Tenn., and came here around 1990 from St. Louis. - LESNAW, KENNETH E., 79, of Dunedin, died Monday (March 31, 2003) at home. He came here in 1979 from his native Chicago and worked as an exterminator for Truly Nolan Pest Control. - HALL, LEWIS "LEW," 82, of Largo, died Sunday (April 6, 2003) at Mariner Health Care of Belleair. He was born in Landersville, Ala., and came here in 1965 from Birmingham, Ala. He retired as a bus driver for the city of Clearwater. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and enjoyed automotive repair. - KELLY, RICHARD MICHAEL, 89, of Largo, died Saturday (April 5, 2003) at Largo Medical Center. He was born in Philadelphia. He was an Army veteran of World War II and received a Purple Heart. - SAWA, WALTER, 88, a winter resident of Largo, died Sunday (April 6, 2003) at home in Largo. He was born in Lvov, Poland, and came here in 1986 from Friendship, Wis. He was a retired restaurateur and a Polish Army veteran of World War II. He was Roman Catholic and a member of the John Paul II Center and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. - ALEXANDER, MARVIN G., 81, of Oldsmar, died Friday (April 4, 2003) at Morton Plant Hospital, Clearwater. He was born in Cleveland and came here in 1987 from West Bloomfield, Mich. He was a retired real estate developer and retired from Federals Department store in Michigan. He graduated from Western Reserve Academy, Hudson, Ohio, and received a master's degree at Harvard Business School. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was an avid bridge player and loved arts, cars and music. Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Toni; four daughters, Susan Alexander, Clearwater, Mae-Lyn DeBoard and Lisa Boyer, both of Rochester Hills, Mich., and Anne Sieder, Munich, Germany; and three grandsons. - MOODY, STEVEN A. "MOO," 49, of Oldsmar, formerly of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday (April 1, 2003) at Hospice House Woodside, Pinellas Park. He was born in Newfoundland and came here in 1973 from Germany, where he graduated from Augsburg High School and attended Schiller College, Berlin. He graduated in 1975 from University of South Florida and worked three years in the Peace Corps, serving in Jamaica. He worked for the Children's Home Society and the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch and for the past 10 years has worked as a behavior specialist at the Richard L. - SUSSKIND, KURT, 81, of Oldsmar, died Saturday (April 5, 2003) at Mease Countryside Hospital, Safety Harbor. He was born in Dulken, Germany, and came here in 1987 from Chicago. He was an entrepreneur and Jewish. - MOLENDA, DANIEL A., 77, of Palm Harbor, died Friday (April 4, 2003) at Mease Dunedin Hospital. He was born in Cleveland and came here in 1986 from Mentor, Ohio. He was a retired electrician and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Dunedin, and Local 38 in Ohio.
