  • AITTAMA, ERMA E., 95, of Dunedin, formerly of Inverness, died Saturday (Aug. 2, 2003) at Cross Terrace Rehabilitation Center, Dunedin. She was born in Calumet, Mich., and moved to Dunedin in 1998 from Inverness. She worked as a sale person for JL Hudson Co., Detroit, for several years and taught china painting in Detroit and Inverness. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Inverness and past president of the First Presbyterian Ladies. Survivors include three sons, Gordon, Cheboygan, Mich., Paul, Dunedin, and David, Highland, Mich.; two daughters, Edith Niederer, Honey Creek, Wis., and June Tervo, Beverly Hills, Fla.; 16 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.   • CABRERA, MONA, 72, of Homosassa, died Friday (Aug. 1, 2003) in Jacksonville. A native of Homosassa, she was a retired cashier in the food industry.   • LEWIS, IRENE CARRIE, 87, of Inverness, died Saturday (Aug. 2, 2003) at Mariner Health Care in Inverness. Born in Breathitt County, Ky., she came here in 1993 from Weeki Wachee. She was a secretary for the Henando County School System and a member of Order of the Eastern Star, and was Protestant.   • PRESTIGIACOMO, ANTHONY, 91, of Inverness, died Friday (Aug. 1, 2003) in Inverness. He came here in 1972 from his native New York City. After retiring as a barber he worked at Bealls and Kash n' Karry for many years. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Highland Civic Club, former member of Citrus Democratic Club, and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.   • FERRARO, RAYMOND J., 90, of Spring Hill, died Friday (Aug. 1, 2003) at home. Born in Dunmore, Pa., he came here five years ago from Wallingford, Pa. He was a retired mechanic with Sun Oil in Pennsylvania, a member of Masonic Lodge 236, Chester, Pa., and was Presbyterian.   • WHITE, KATHARINE S., 78, of Tampa, died Friday (Aug. 1, 2003) at her home. Born in Chicago, she moved from Rockville, Md., to Palm Harbor in 1985. She was a retired teacher and was a member of St. Alfred's Episcopal Church, Palm Harbor. She also served with the Dunedin Newcomers and sang with the St. Alfred's choir and the Clearwater Community Chorus. Survivors include two sons, William P. Archibald of Tampa and James S.   • CRUZ, ALFONSO JR., 60, of Tampa, died Friday (Aug. 1, 2003). A native of Mayaguez, Puerto Rico, he lived in Tampa for six years. Survivors include his wife, Rosa; a son, Alfonso III; three daughters, Rosa Isabel, Nereida Rodriguez and Everidis; three sisters, Isabelita Sanders, Angelita and Milagros; and eight grandchildren.   • GONZALEZ DEL BUSTO, JOSE MANUEL, 92, of Tampa died Friday (Aug. 1, 2003). A native of Los Palacios, Pinar Del Rio, Cuba, he moved to Tampa from New Jersey in 1969. Survivors include a daughter, Oneida Perez; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Gonzalez Funeral Home, Tampa.
  • BRUCE, JOHN W. SR., 68, of Brandon, died Thursday (July 31, 2003). Born in Quincy, he served in the National Guard, Army, Air Force and the Tampa Police Department. He was with the Tampa Bay and Florida Intelligence Units, the Juvenile Affairs Committee of Hillsborough County, the Department of Children's Services Advisory Board for Hillsborough County, Mills Bell Committee on Child Abuse, the Florida Senate Task Force for Troubled Youth, and the Governors Constituency for Children. He founded the Child Abuse Committee of Florida and the Florida State Conference on Children. He received awards from TPD, the Hillsborough County Commission and the Florida State Department of Health and Rehabilitation Service. He coached 29 recreation and select soccer teams, and was a Baptist. Survivors include his wife, Patricia; four sons, John Jr., Matthew, Mark and Jonathan; two daughters, Vereatha Gay Morales and Pamela Gambrell; and 14 grandchildren.   • KENNA, ROSWELL EDWARD JR., 76, of Sun City Center, died Friday (Aug. 1, 2003). Born in Tampa, he was a lifelong area resident. A Korean War veteran, he served as a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. army for 35 years, and later in the reserves. He retired as a colonel in 1987 while commandant of the USAR School in Tampa. He was the liaison officer between the city of Tampa and MacDill Air Force Base and on former Congressman Sam Gibbons' board for West Point appointees. He worked for the University of Tampa and taught at Madison Junior High School. An accomplished percussionist, he was a charter member of the Tampa Philharmonic Orchestra. He was past president of the Civitan Club of Tampa. He was a member of the Wimauma Church of God.   • ARNOLD, MICHAEL BRAY, 59, of New Port Richey, died Saturday (Aug. 2, 2003) at home. Born in Greenville, Tenn., he came here 38 years ago from Asheville, N.C. He was a maintenance worker for the Pasco County School System and a member and former trustee of First United Methodist Church.   • COLE, CLARENCE "BUD," 77, of New Port Richey, died Friday (Aug. 1, 2003) at home. Born in West Valley, N.Y., he came here in 1982 from Collins Center, N.Y. He was a retired safety officer for the State of New York, a Navy veteran of World War II, and Catholic. He was a member of VFW Post 5007, Gowanda, N.Y. She was a registered nurse and an Army nurse during World War II. She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul and its Ladies Guild.     • BAKER, RUTH M., 90, of Clearwater, died Friday (Aug. 1, 2003) at Comprehensive Healthcare at Clearwater. She was born in New York City and came here in 1978 from Clifton, N.J., where she retired as a librarian after 22 years with the Clifton Public Library. She was Presbyterian.     • BENTLEY, KATHRYN CRISWELL, 100, of Clearwater, formerly of Tampa, died Wednesday (July 30, 2003) at Sabal Palms Health Care Center, Largo. She was born in Canton, Ohio, and was a descendant of William Jennings Bryan. She came to Tampa in 1956 from Atlanta and later moved to Clearwater. She graduated from Old Girls High School, Atlanta, and attended Wesleyan College. Survivors include two sons, George Edward, Clearwater, and Thomas Sr., Largo; a daughter, Ann Ackerman, Springfield, Ga.; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.     • BROSE, ALBERT H., 83, of Clearwater, died Sunday (Aug. 3, 2003) at Hospice House Woodside, Pinellas Park. He came here in 1985 from his native Buffalo, N.Y., where he retired as a firefighter.     • CARLETON, NITA ANN, 59, of Clearwater, died Friday (Aug. 1, 2003) at home. She was a lifelong resident and graduated from Clearwater High School. She worked as a certified nurse's assistant at Mease Dunedin Hospital and at Alterra Wynwood of Dunedin. She was Baptist. She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, arts and crafts and interior decorating.     • REISDORPH, HERBERT "BERT," 81, of Clearwater, died Saturday (Aug. 2, 2003) at Comprehensive Healthcare at Clearwater. He was born in Tuckahoe, N.Y., and came here in 1959 from Croton-on-Hudson, N.Y., where he worked for the Croton Police Department. Locally, he worked as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Clearwater. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Old Fort Harrison VFW Post 2473, Clearwater. She came here in 1959 from her native Chicago, where she retired as a cafeteria manager after 20 years with Chicago Telephone Co. Locally, she worked for 10 years as a food service manager at Ponce DeLeon Elementary School and Clearwater High School. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Dunedin. She enjoyed baking and shopping. Survivors include a daughter, Kathryn "Kay" Seery, Safety Harbor; a son, William Robert "Bob" Webb, Woodstock, Ga.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. He was a petroleum geologist for Standard Oil of New Jersey. He was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church, Largo. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Elizabeth A.; a daughter, Ann Hahn, Largo; two sons, Robert, Seminole, and James, Atlanta; a sister, Dorothea Chickering, Madison; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.     • KASPAREK, GEORGE E., 86, of Largo, died Wednesday (July 30, 2003) at Largo Medical Center. He was born in Jeannette, Pa. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, where he was an usher for many years, a volunteer for bingo and was active in the St. Vincent DePaul Society, Largo.     • SAXTON, ROBERT R., 71, of Largo, died Friday (Aug. 1, 2003) at Largo Medical Center. He was born in Fort Smith, Ark., and came here in 1955 from Lancaster, Pa., where he worked as a journeyman plumber for contractors. He worked many years for Dow Chemical in Midland, Mich. Locally, he worked as a plumber for Westminster Shores, St. Petersburg. He was a member of Heisler-Johnson American Legion Post 119, Largo. He was an endowment member of the NRA, a life member of the North American Hunting Club and a member of the PGA Tour Partners Club, the USGA and the National Golf Association. Survivors include a daughter, Barbara A.     • STANGER, LYNNE, 59, of Largo, died Friday (Aug. 1, 2003) at home under the care of Hospice of the Florida Suncoast. She came here in 1995 from her native New York and worked as a bartender.     • GLENN, DOROTHY T., 92, of Gulfport, died Saturday (Aug. 2, 2003) at Egret Cove Nursing Center. She was born in Scottdale, Pa., and came here in 1976 from Pittsburgh. She was the secretary for the Upper St. Clair, Pa., school district for 17 years. She was a pianist and an organist and accompanied the Town Shores Chorus. She was a member of the Pasadena Community Church. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Frank R.; two sons, Robert T. Glenn, Gaitherburg, Md., and Wayne T. She was a firefighter in England during World War II. She was a classical dancer. She enjoyed traveling and animals. She was a retired cafeteria manager for Standard Food in Long Island, N.Y. She was a member of Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle and the American Cancer Society. Locally, he worked for the city of Pinellas Park in the highway department. Survivors include two sons, John Leslie, Stone Park, Ill., and Mark Leslie, South Pasadena; three daughters, Kathryn Challenger, Tierra Verde, Victoria Hickle, Cape Coral, and Marsha Broms, Virginia Beach, Va.; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
