Cheap Trick Holiday Rock Ball

At 8 p.m. tonight at Ruth Eckerd Hall, Cheap Trick (with original members Robin Zander, Bun E. Carlos, Rick Nielsen and Tom Peterson) takes the stage singing hits such as I Want You To Want Me, Dream Police, The Flame and Surrender. PICNIC IN THE PARK: Every Friday evening, the public is invited to bring picnic dinners to Largo Central Park and enjoy the new "music in the park" sound system. You can participate in candlelight picnics from 6 to 8 p.m. Table cloths, candles and music will be provided. You provide the food. This week, dance to the music of the divas: Celine, Aretha, Mariah and Shania. Call (727) 586-7415.

SATURDAYS IN THE PARK: Enjoy a themed party for preschoolers age 6 and younger from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday in shelters 6 and 7 at Largo Central Park. This month's theme is "Puppet Performers!" Admission is $5 per child. Register in advance at Southwest Recreation Complex, 13120 Vonn Road, Largo, by 6 p.m. Friday. Parents must remain with their children during the event.

PHOTO SHOW: An exhibit called "A Touch of Red" is on display at the Packinghouse Gallery through Monday. It features 28 photographers, including Deb Barker, Diane Boran, Alan Bourne, Charles Buhrman, Doug Cavanah, Joe Constantino, Cheryl Day, Harvey Edelman, Kathy Finnerty, Michael Hancock, A.J. Haselwood and Tony Henneke. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Saturday. The gallery is at 10900 Oakhurst Road, Largo. Call (727) 596-7822.

FANTA-SEA OF LIGHTS: Celebrate the end of the day with a festival of holiday lights and entertainment two hours before and two hours after sunset at the Pier 60 Pavilion on Clearwater Beach. Part of the Sunsets at Pier 60 daily festival, the event features entertainment, artists and street performers through today. Admission is free.
