TAMPA - Police investigating a burglary Friday at a rented home near the University of South Florida discovered a marijuana-growing operation, according to an arrest report released Saturday.
Julio Roche Vazquez, 25, was arrested on charges of cultivating marijuana after police found 18 marijuana plants growing in a bedroom at 10002 N Altman St. The plants, all 1 to 3 inches in height, each could yield 1 ounce of pot, police said.
Along with the marijuana cultivation system, which they described as "elaborate," investigators found heroin and drug paraphernalia, according to the report. Vazquez also was charged with possession of heroin and drug paraphernalia.
