BALTIMORE - Now Gary Anderson has another kick to think about, one that will provide him with a smile instead of a grimace.
Anderson made a 46-yard field goal with 29 seconds left Saturday, giving the Titans a 20-17 victory over the Ravens.
Pressure is nothing new to the kicker, who usually makes more than he misses. But in January 1999, his lone miss of the season - a 38-yarder late in regulation against the Falcons - cost the Vikings the chance to go to the Super Bowl.
Now Anderson has a chance to get back to the Super Bowl, remarkable considering he was fly-fishing in Colorado in September when the Titans called.
"The last one I didn't hit it perfectly, but I hit it straight," Anderson said. "I can kick a little bit farther than that. You know, I've got a few different clubs in my bag, depending on the situation."
MODELL HONORED: The final day of Art Modell's 43-year career as an NFL owner began with a warm celebration and ended with defeat.
During a rousing pregame ceremony, the 78-year-old owner had his name placed in the Ravens' Ring of Honor.
Modell received a standing ovation from the sellout crowd as he waved from the owner's box. Many of the Ravens halted their preparation for the start of the game by standing and applauding on the sideline.
One sign read, "1st Raven in the Hall of Fame: Art Modell."
The Ravens hoped to give Modell a proper sendoff by advancing to the Super Bowl.
"We would have liked to give him the best gift he could ever get," Baltimore guard Edwin Mulitalo said.
Modell sold 49 percent of the team to Steve Bisciotti in 1999 with the understanding that Bisciotti could purchase the remaining 51 percent after the 2003 season.
EXTRA POINTS: Baltimore linebacker Peter Boulware, a former FSU standout who has a sprained knee, was inactive. ... The Titans sacked Anthony Wright twice and are the only team with at least one sack in every game this season. ... Steve McNair's 49-yard touchdown was his longest completion in a playoff game.
