TODAY: U.S. automakers release sales report for December; Commerce Department reports on construction spending for November; and trial begins for Adelphia Communications Corp. founder John Rigas and others on charges of conspiracy, securities fraud, wire fraud and bank fraud.
TUESDAY: Enron to present its reorganization plan to a bankruptcy judge for preliminary approval; Commerce Department reports on factory orders for November; and Apple Computer CEO Steve Jobs gives keynote address at the Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco. WEDNESDAY: JetBlue Airways begins nonstop flights between Tampa International Airport and Boston.
THURSDAY: The nation's largest retailers announce their sales for December; mortgage company Freddie Mac reports on mortgage rates; and Consumer Electronics Show begins in Las Vegas with speakers including Microsoft chairman Bill Gates and Hewlett-Packard chairman Carly Fiorina.
FRIDAY: Labor Department reports on employment for December.
