ZEPHYRHILLS - A 6-year-old boy is recovering from dog bites after apparently being bitten Saturday by a neighbor's 60-pound shepherd mix.

Taylor Kepinski told sheriff's deputies he was playing with a friend when he was bit on the face by the 11-year-old animal owned by Timothy Evenson of 7231 Timbercrest Lane. Taylor suffered a torn left eyelid and cut to his lip.

Deputies contacted Pasco County Animal Control, who planned to confiscate the dog.
