Night club guard stabbed trying to break up fight

TAMPA - A security guard at a downtown night club was stabbed in the chest early Monday when he tried to break up a fight, Tampa Police said.

Security guard Michael Wester was stabbed during a disturbance inside Club XS at 238 N Franklin St. at 1:46 a.m.

The suspect, identified as Antawn Taylor, 28, ran from the club but was caught by officers, police said.

Wester, 23, was taken to a hospital, where he underwent surgery. He was in serious condition at a local hospital Monday.
