LARGO - A 15-year-old Largo boy was pronounced dead Friday morning after being injured in a car crash Wednesday night on Ulmerton Road.

Johnathon Arroyo was a backseat passenger in a 1988 Honda rear-ended by a 2003 Toyota sport utility vehicle in Ulmerton Road's 9000 block. The SUV, which was traveling about 45 mph, crushed the Honda's back end into the vehicle's back seat, seriously injuring Arroyo. Arroyo was pronounced dead at 10:25 a.m. Friday, said Roy Adams, a spokesman at All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg.

An investigation into the crash was continuing Friday, and no charges had been filed.
