TAMPA - Police on Sunday detonated what they suspected was a bomb after it was found in a Ybor City trash bin.

Authorities said a man dumping trash about 8 p.m. saw what appeared to be sticks of dynamite tied together in a bin at 2404 E Fourth Ave.

Authorities evacuated four surrounding homes and used a robot to retrieve the item, which had an electrical timing device attached.

It was placed on the street and blown up, said police Lt. Cherie Bouknecht.

No one was injured.

Police had found no source for the item Sunday night and released no more information.
