TORONTO - Bryan McCabe scored two power-play goals to help the Maple Leafs defeat the Flames 4-1 Tuesday night.
McCabe, who had two goals against Nashville Jan. 6, gave Toronto a 1-0 lead in the first and a 3-1 advantage in the third. He has 26 points this season, two more than he had last season.
"Last year was an off year, I'll admit. It wasn't one of my best," said McCabe, who had higher expectations after finishing with 43 points two seasons ago. "It's good to come back with a fresh mind. I'm just having some fun."
Toronto's Tom Fitzgerald, playing his 1,000th career game, gave Toronto a 4-1 lead. Toronto's Gary Roberts also played his 1,000th game, and both were honored in a pregame ceremony. It was the first time two players have played their 1,000th games together.
Toronto goalie Ed Belfour made 15 saves.
Nik Antropov had a goal and an assist for the Maple Leafs, who lost their previous two games. Toronto leads the Eastern Conference with 59 points.
Shean Donovan scored for the Flames, who played without forwards Craig Conroy, Dave Lowry, Chuck Kobasew and Blair Betts, as well as goalies Roman Turek and Miikka Kiprusoff.
The Maple Leafs won despite missing defensemen Ken Klee and Tomas Kaberle, along with forwards Alexander Mogilny, Owen Nolan, Robert Reichel and Wade Belak.
Toronto's Clarke Wilm sent Donovan to the ice in a fight with five seconds remaining.
McCabe's slap shot from the blue line gave Toronto a 1-0 lead with 26 seconds left in the first.
Donovan scored his 13th goal of the season, tying it at 1 with 33 seconds remaining in the second.
Antropov put a loose puck past a sprawled goalie Jamie McLennan, giving Toronto a 2-1 lead two minutes into the third.
McCabe's one-timer made it 3-1 at 7:17, and Fitzgerald scored an unassisted goal at 16:04.
Toronto went 2-for-4 on the power play, while Calgary went 0-for-6.
STARS 3, SHARKS 0: Bill Guerin scored two goals, including the 300th of his career, and Marty Turco stopped 17 shots for his third shutout of the season for the hosts.
Scott Young also scored in his fourth consecutive game for the Stars, who dominated their second meeting of the season with the team that has replaced them atop the Pacific Division.
OILERS 4, PANTHERS 2: Raffi Torres and Ryan Smyth scored power-play goals for the hosts. The power-play goals were Edmonton's first in eight games since a 2-1 home loss to Calgary on Dec. 28. Cory Cross and Fernando Pisani also scored for Edmonton. Mike Van Ryn and Valeri Bure scored for Florida.
In Panthers news, center Nathan Horton has a torn rotator cuff in his left shoulder and is out indefinitely.
RANGERS 4, ISLANDERS 1: Defenseman Tom Poti had a goal and assist, and blue-line partner Brian Leetch set up two scores to lead the hosts to their fourth consecutive victory over their rivals.
Alex Kovalev and Vladimir Malakhov added insurance goals in the third period, and Eric Lindros also scored to help the Rangers stretch their unbeaten streak over the Islanders to 6-0-2.
CANADIENS 5, BLUES 2: Mike Ribeiro and Jan Bulis each had a goal and an assist, and backup goalie Mathieu Garon made 16 saves for the hosts.
Ribeiro scored his 10th of the season to tie it at 1 in the first, and he assisted on Richard Zednik's go-ahead goal 3:44 into the second. Ribeiro leads the Canadiens with 35 points in 44 games.

The Canadiens will hold their first outdoor practice Jan. 25, a move that comes two months after they defeated the Oilers 4-3 in the first outdoor game in history.
The practice will be held on a rink at Place des Nations on St. Helene's Island across from downtown Montreal. It will coincide with the city's winter festival.
