Police arrest Tampa pair for racing

CLEARWATER - Police charged two 19-year-old Tampa men with racing on Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard late Wednesday night at more than 90 mph, according to arrest reports. Steven William Harbison was driving a 1995 Mazda MX-6, and Vladislav Grach was driving a 2002 Hyundai, police said.

While stopped for a red light at Gulf-to-Bay and Park Place in front of Clearwater Mall, both drivers revved their engines, then took off at the green light, tires squealing, police said. Each appeared to be jockeying for the lead when officers pulled them over.

Each was charged with two traffic-related misdemeanors, racing and driving with a suspended license. They were booked into the Pinellas County Jail and released on their own recognizance.
