BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Legally Blonde and Charlie's Angels aren't likely to be on the lips of film buffs this awards season, but while they lacked substance, they had style, according to the Costume Designers Guild, which recently announced its nominations for excellence in costume design.

Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle earned Joseph G. Aulisi a nod in the contemporary film category, along with Sophie de Rakoff Carbonell for Legally Blonde 2: Red, White & Blonde, Durinda Wood for A Mighty Wind and Catherine Thomas for Kill Bill: Vol. 1.

In the period/fantasy film category, the guild nominated Penny Rose for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Judianna Makovsky for Seabiscuit and Ngila Dickson for both Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King and The Last Samurai.

In TV, Patricia Field was nominated for HBO's Sex and the City, along with Laura Goldsmith for ABC's Alias, Jill Ohanneson for HBO's Six Feet Under, Juliet Polcsa for HBO's The Sopranos and Lori Eskowitz-Carter for NBC's Will & Grace.

The winners will be announced at a Feb. 21 awards ceremony hosted by Anjelica Huston.
