HARTFORD, Conn. - Barbara Turner was the picture of confidence on the free-throw line when Connecticut needed it most.

The sophomore forward hit all 11 of her free throws and scored 19 to lead the No. 4 Huskies to a 69-61 win over No. 22 Boston College on Saturday.

"I think I just had the right mind-set," Turner said. "Once I hit the first three or four I kind of felt I was going to make every one."

Turner went up against BC's much taller post players.

"I'm always looking to draw contact when I catch the ball in the post because I'm small," Turner said. "I know I have to give my body to the defender that's guarding me."

The Huskies (12-2, 3-1 Big East) avoided consecutive losses for the first time since the 1992-93 season.

Jesselyn Deveny led the Eagles (12-3, 2-2) with 20 points. Her 3-pointer with 2:09 left drew the Eagles to 61-59. But Ann Strother's 3-pointer started an 8-2 run to end the game.

Trailing by four with 1:53 remaining, Tech (16-1, 2-1 Big 12) got two free throws and a layup to tie it at 61 with 43.9 seconds left.

Baylor (14-3, 2-2) took the lead again, Tech tied it again, then Baylor's Jessika Stratton was called for stepping backward onto the baseline. A replay showed the call was wrong.

Robertson hit a free throw with 2.2 seconds left.

Tech leading scorer Jia Perkins (16.5) left the team for undisclosed medical reasons.

NO. 3 TEXAS 67, IOWA STATE 45: Stacy Stephens had 17 points and 12 rebounds for the Longhorns (15-2, 3-1 Big 12), who extended the nation's longest home winning streak to 28. The Cyclones are 8-6, 1-2.
