MIAMI - Police stopped a plane on the runway Sunday to arrest a man they say killed his ex-girlfriend and his ex-girlfriend's mother in Lee County and left the ex-girlfriend's 4-year-old daughter at Miami International Airport.
Jason Nelson, 26, was arrested by Miami-Dade police after the body of Robyn Golder, 21, was found about 4 a.m. Sunday, Lee County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Ileana LiMarzi said. After being found at the airport, Golder's daughter was reunited with family in Lehigh Acres, where Golder's mother, Julie Halsmer, 53, was found fatally shot Saturday night.
Nelson was on a flight leaving the country, LiMarzi said. He was being held on murder charges.
