Driver shot in face crashes SUV into car

ST. PETERSBURG - A man driving a Ford Explorer was shot Tuesday, then crashed into a car on 18th Avenue S.

No one else was injured.

The man, 23-year-old Darius Stubbins, was in critical condition at Bayfront Medical Center. He was not carrying identification, police said, adding that his last known address was 5125 6th St. S. No arrests were made.

Stubbins was shot in the side of the face at 1:16 p.m. and drove east on 18th Avenue S to 10th Street, where he crashed into a car, police said.
