McGrady, Magic run over Wizards

WASHINGTON - Tracy McGrady had 39 points, nine rebounds and five assists Wednesday night to lead the Magic to a 104-100 victory over the Wizards.

McGrady started the game with a four-point play and followed with a three-point play, a 3-pointer and a layup en route to 18 first-quarter points.

Larry Hughes scored 12 straight to pull Washington to 96-90 with 2:59 left, but McGrady answered with six consecutive points.

Hughes, who missed the previous game with right-knee tendinitis, led Washington with 21 points.

CAVALIERS 94, HEAT 93: Ira Newble blocked Dwyane Wade's shot in the final second, and Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored 30 on 14 for 16 shooting for host Cleveland. Wade returned after missing 13 games with a sprained wrist. The Cavaliers were without forward Carlos Boozer, who attended a family funeral.

PISTONS 106, CELTICS 103: Chauncey Billups scored eight of his 21 in the final five minutes, and visiting Detroit spoiled John Carroll's debut as Boston's coach.

PACERS 101, SUNS 79: Al Harrington had 24 points and six rebounds to help host Indiana avoid its first three-game losing streak of the season.

RAPTORS 94, 76ERS 84: Donyell Marshall had 19 points and 10 rebounds as host Toronto ended a five-game losing skid. Philadelphia's Allen Iverson missed his second straight game because of sprained right index finger. The Raptors were without forward Michael Curry, who is sidelined indefinitely after surgery to remove bone chips and spurs from his right elbow.

BLAZERS 88, GRIZZLIES 76: Zach Randolph had 21 points and nine rebounds as visiting Portland ended Memphis' longest winning streak at eight.

HORNETS 101, BUCKS 100: Returning from minor knee surgery, Jamal Mashburn scored host New Orleans' final 13. Baron Davis, who returned after missing three games with a sprained left ankle, added 23 as the Hornets won their third straight.

JAZZ 91, MAVERICKS 88: Raja Bell made two free throws with 12.3 seconds left for host Utah. He finished with 18 points against his former team.

NUGGETS 115, BULLS 99: Marcus Camby had a career-high 24 rebounds and Carmelo Anthony had 21 points and seven rebounds as host Denver snapped a season-long three-game losing streak.

KINGS 99, ROCKETS 94: Mike Bibby equaled a season high with 28 points as visiting Sacramento rallied. The Kings were behind 83-80 with seven minutes to play before scoring eight straight. They never trailed again.

LAKERS 96, SONICS 82: Gary Payton had 24 points against his former team, and Shaquille O'Neal and Rick Fox returned for host Los Angeles. O'Neal missed 12 games because of a strained right calf, and Fox was playing for the first time since tearing a tendon in his left foot nine months ago. ... Seattle guard Brent Barry will have surgery on a broken finger and is expected to miss up to six weeks.

MAVERICKS: Guard Tony Delk was placed on the injured list with a sprained left ankle.

NETS: Forward Eddie Griffin took a leave three weeks after signing with the team. President and general manager Rod Thorn said there was no timetable for Griffin to return.
