TORONTO - Richard Hamilton scored all eight for Detroit during overtime, and Ben Wallace blocked two shots in the final five seconds as the Pistons beat the Raptors 90-89 Friday night.
Vince Carter sent it to overtime with a 3-pointer and gave Toronto a three-point lead with 1:01 left in overtime, but Hamilton followed with a driving layup and two free throws, giving Detroit a 90-89 lead with 23 seconds remaining.
Toronto's Alvin Williams and Chris Bosh both missed jumpers before Wallace blocked Morris Peterson's shot attempt with five seconds left. The Raptors won the jump ball, and Wallace blocked Carter's potential winning jumper just before the buzzer.
76ERS 85, HORNETS 82: Aaron McKie hit a pair of jumpers in the final 1:35 to lead host Philadelphia. Allen Iverson returned to the lineup after missing two games with a sprained finger and had 31 points and eight assists. New Orleans led by six with 5:13 remaining but turned the ball over on their next four possessions. McKie's 19-foot jumper from the corner tied it at 81.
KNICKS 92, CELTICS 74: Stephon Marbury scored 17 and Michael Doleac 15 as New York handed host Boston its second straight loss under interim coach John Carroll. The Knicks, who were swept by the Celtics the past two seasons, have won all three this season. Shandon Anderson and Keith Van Horn had 16 each for New York, which was without starting guard Allan Houston (sore knee).
WIZARDS 105, SUNS 100: Larry Hughes scored 13 of his 23 in the fourth quarter when host Washington rallied from a 15-point deficit. Hughes scored seven during a 15-0 run that tied it, and his 3-pointer with 1:12 left put the Wizards ahead by four. Steve Blake scored eight of his 13 in the fourth for Washington, which had a season-high 59 rebounds but committed 25 turnovers and missed 19 free throws.
HEAT 97, CLIPPERS 88: Miami's Lamar Odom had 25 points against his former team. Rafer Alston secured the win on a 3-pointer with 1:14 left to put the host Heat ahead 91-83. Elton Brand had 23 points and 15 rebounds for the Clippers.
JAZZ 85, GRIZZLIES 79: Andrei Kirilenko had 21 points, and Utah outrebounded host Memphis 44-26 to win its third straight. The Jazz took the lead in the second quarter and stayed ahead the rest of the night. Pau Gasol, the Grizzlies leading scorer and rebounder, was held to 10 points and two rebounds.
BUCKS 101, CAVALIERS 95: Michael Redd scored 24 as host Milwaukee held off Cleveland. With the Cavaliers trailing 96-91 with 41 seconds left, rookie LeBron James was fouled by Joe Smith while shooting a 3-pointer. James missed all three free throws.
FINED: The league fined Utah $15,000 for a skit that took place during a first-quarter timeout of Saturday's game against the Lakers. The Jazz's mascot held a phone conversation with a Karl Malone impersonator over the public address system. Malone, who missed the game with an injury, spent his first 18 seasons in Utah before signing with the Lakers this offseason. "I don't care if Stock (John Stockton) ain't there. I want to come home. ... But I guess it could be worse. I could be Ko--." The mock call abruptly ended with the thinly veiled reference to Kobe Bryant's pending sexual assault case. Jazz management sent a written apology to the Lakers organization, but Malone has not accepted it.
BOBCATS: The team began building its roster for the expansion draft. It will be June 22 unless the NBA Finals goes to a Game 7.
LAKERS: Kobe Bryant was placed on the injured list because of a severe cut on his right index finger that will sideline him for at least a week. The team said Bryant needed 9-10 stitches. He was injured Thursday when he accidentally put his hand through a glass window while trying to move some boxes in his garage.
MAVERICKS: The team claimed forward Scott Williams off waivers. The 13-year veteran was waived Wednesday by the Suns.
PACERS: Forward Al Harrington has no structural damage in his sore right knee and isn't expected to miss any time.
WARRIORS: Forward Mike Dunleavy sprained his left ankle in the third quarter against Chicago.
