SHENZHEN, China - The United States beat Sweden 3-0 in the Four Nations soccer tournament Friday, getting two goals from Lindsay Tarpley and one from Shannon Boxx.
The American team was without star forward Mia Hamm and defender Brandi Chastain, who are expected to return for Olympic qualifying beginning Feb.25 in Costa Rica.
Earlier, China downed Canada 2-1 on goals by Bai Lili and Teng Wei.
The four teams are playing a round-robin format in the warmup for the Athens Olympics. The United States won last year.
MEN'S QUALIFYING: Australia earned a spot in the Summer Games after a 1-all tie with New Zealand in Auckland. Australia joins Argentina and Paraguay as nations that have qualified for the 16-team tournament, along with host Greece and defending champion Cameroon.
BOXING: Former champ sentenced
Former middleweight champion Michael Nunn was sentenced to more than 24 years in federal prison for buying 2 pounds of cocaine from an undercover agent more than a year ago. U.S. District Judge William Gritzner agreed to a higher sentencing guideline after considering Nunn's history in drug trafficking and the likelihood he used a firearm during drug deals. Nunn's attorney, Anthony Schumann, said he would consider appealing the sentence or asking Gritzner to reconsider.
WINTER SPORTS: American injured in crash
Kirsten Clark of the United States crashed at a World Cup downhill in Haus Im Ennstal, Austria. Clark had surgery on her broken right wrist and had ligament damage to both knees. "It's reasonable to assume that she is out for the season," team spokesman Tom Clark told the Associated Press. Germany's Maria Riesch won her first World Cup title in 1 minute, 39.30 seconds.
MEN'S SKIING: Didier Cuche gave Switzerland its first World Cup victory of the season when he beat American Daron Rahlves in a downhill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany. Cuche finished in 1:59.49 for his fifth career victory ... Five-time Olympic medalist Lasse Kjus will miss the rest of the season after injuring his knee last week in Austria. The Norwegian had cartilage and tendon damage and had surgery.
FREESTYLE MOGULS: Toby Dawson of the United States and Norway's Kari Traa won gold at the World Cup event in Park City, Utah. Dawson finished with 26.42 points, and Traa had 26.
SWIMMING: Moses runs streak to 11
Ed Moses won the 50- and 200-meter breaststroke at a World Cup meet in East Meadow, N.Y., then announced he would not compete in the U.S. National meet next month. Moses won the 200 in 2:04.61 and the 50 in 26.85, both U.S. Open records. He extended his unbeaten streak in World Cup races to 11. American Chad Carvin won the 400 individual medley (4:11.78) and 400 freestyle (3:40.87). Jenny Thompson and Martina Moravcova of Slovakia finished the women's 100 butterfly in 57.87. Thompson set a U.S. Open record 43 minutes later in the 50 freestyle (24.60).
HORSES: Hialeah sues state
Hialeah Racing Association sued the state, alleging a statute is unconstitutional and prevented Hialeah Park from being competitive. Hialeah alleges the deregulation of racing dates in 2001 essentially took the park's racing permit without compensation. It has not held a season since.

SAILING: The final day of the Rolex Miami OCR was canceled because of a lack of wind. Mark Mendelblatt of St. Petersburg finished second to Paul Goodison in the Laser division.
