CLEARWATER - Monday's game between Clearwater and Seminole was supposed to be the biggest contest of the year, with the winner representing the North division in the Pinellas County Athletic Conference championship game.
It turned out to be no contest at all.
The Tornadoes showed their strength inside and agility outside as they manhandled the Warhawks 69-41.
Clearwater advanced to the conference championship game for the ninth straight season. The Tornadoes will try to win their sixth title in that span when they travel to Boca Ciega on Friday.
"(Seminole) has a good team, but we're just playing really well right now," Clearwater coach Tom Shaneyfelt said.
The Tornadoes outscored the Warhawks in every period. Nine Clearwater players scored, led by Nicole Ryan with 18, Rachel Hammond with 17 and Danielle Kostacky with 12.
