Team pop trivia

By GINA VIVINETTO
Published February 5, 2004

This week's winner: Kevin Neal of Tampa knew that Ann-Margret rolled around in baked beans in The Who's 1975 rock opera Tommy. (Yes, Team Pop members who mentioned champagne suds and chocolate syrup, you're right, too, but we specifically asked for "food stuffs.")

This week's question: Rod Stewart is in Tampa on Saturday. Stewart has lent his raspy voice to many songs penned by others, including Downtown Train, which he made a monster hit. To enter your name in the random drawing for the Weekend T-shirt, tell us the name of the raspy-voiced crooner who actually wrote the tune.

Fax entries to Team Pop Trivia, 727 892-2327, e-mail gina@sptimes.com or mail to: Team Pop Trivia, c/o Weekend, St. Petersburg Times, P.O. Box 1121, St. Petersburg, FL 33731. All mailed entries must be postmarked by Friday (the day after we ask the question). Faxes and e-mail by noon Monday. Include full name, address, phone number and T-shirt size.
