SAN ANTONIO - Authorities were using dental records to help verify the identity Friday of a tanker truck driver who died in a blaze that erupted when he crashed into the back of a dump truck.
The man was driving north on Curley Road just south of State Road 52 Thursday afternoon when he slammed into the back of a Waste Management truck.
James Giddions, 35, the Waste Management truck driver, slowed as a car in front of him turned left, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. But the tanker driver did not slow down in time.
The crash caused three to four explosions in the tanker, which was hauling gasoline, and the driver died in the cab of the tanker.
Dozens of homes and businesses were evacuated for about two hours after the crash.
Man charged with molesting two boys
LAND O'LAKES - A 26-year-old Lake County man was charged with molesting two young boys in Zephyrhills over the past two years.
Conrad Allen, of 1740 Morin St., Eustis, was arrested in Lake County on two Pasco County warrants, accused of molesting a 3-year-old boy in March 2003 and a 6-year-old boy between August and September 2002.
Allen, who was not living in Pasco County at the time of the alleged incidents, was not a stranger to the boys, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
He was charged Thursday with two counts of capital sexual battery, according to a report.
He remained at the Land O'Lakes jail Friday in lieu of $100,000 bail.
