COLUMBUS - Matt Nagy threw a 6-yard pass to Damien Groce as time expired, lifting Carolina past Columbus 54-53.

Nagy threw five touchdowns and ran for another for the Cobras.

The Cobras, who trailed 50-34 late in the third, outscored the Destroyers 20-3 during the final 16 minutes to improve to 2-0. Entering this season, Carolina had lost 17 in a row.

A 24-yard field goal by Steve Videtich gave Columbus a 53-48 lead with 56 seconds left.

AUSTIN 49, ORLANDO 48 (OT): Former Storm quarterback John Kaleo threw a 10-yard touchdown to Darryl Hammond in overtime, and the visiting Wranglers won their league debut.

Kaleo's fifth touchdown gave expansion Austin a 49-42 lead in overtime.

Former Buc Joe Hamilton led Orlando back down the field, and Marlon Moye-Moore's 2-yard TD run cut it to 49-48.

But Hamilton's attempt to run in the two-point conversion failed.

Kaleo's 4-yard touchdown to Hammond with 7:06 left in regulation tied it at 42.
