PHILADELPHIA - Sean Burke is sure he will savor his milestone later.

Burke stopped 25 shots to win his 300th career game as the Flyers beat the Rangers 6-2 Saturday for their fifth straight victory.

Burke, the 20th goalie to reach the milestone, won his second straight - both against the Rangers - since being acquired from Phoenix on Monday. He got a 2-1 victory Thursday.

"Wins and losses is not really an individual stat," said Burke, a 16-year veteran. "I guess it means for me that I've been around quite a while and I've been fortunate enough to be able to win some games. I think you look back on those things more when you're done playing than while you're playing."

Patrick Sharp scored twice for the Flyers.

Sabre is 7th goalie with goal

Buffalo goaltender Mika Noronen became the seventh goalie to be credited with a goal when host Toronto's center Robert Reichel accidentally put the puck into an empty net in the Sabres' 6-4 win.

With Toronto down 5-4, Reichel tried to pass the puck from behind Buffalo's net, but the puck went all the way down the ice and into the empty net. Noronen, the last Buffalo player to touch the puck, was credited with the goal.

Goalie Ed Belfour (lower back) was not in the lineup. Trevor Kidd replaced him. In Leafs news, goalie Mikael Tellqvist was recalled from AHL-St. John's.

SHARKS 2, JACKETS 1 (OT) : Marco Sturm jammed in a loose puck with 16.1 seconds left in overtime on visiting San Jose's franchise-record 50th shot.

Marc Denis, who set a Columbus record with 48 saves, appeared to have covered Patrick Marleau's shot. But Sturm swooped in near the left post and got a stick on the puck as it popped loose off Denis' leg pad. He pushed it into the net for his 16th of the season.

Brad Stuart, who assisted on Sturm's goal, tied it at 1 in the first with his fourth of the season. In Jackets news, right wing David Ling was recalled from Syracuse of the AHL.

SENATORS 5, CANADIENS 2: Zdeno Chara had a goal and two assists, and Patrick Lalime had 20 saves for host Ottawa. Steve Begin scored twice for Montreal.

In Canadiens news, defenseman Sheldon Souray (sprained knee) is expected to be sidelined for six more weeks.

DEVILS 4, HURRICANES 1: Scott Gomez and Brian Gionta set each other up for first-period goals, helping host New Jersey end a three-game losing streak.

Jeff Friesen and Mike Rupp also scored for New Jersey.

BLACKHAWKS 2, BRUINS 1 (OT): Tuomo Ruutu knocked in his own rebound four minutes into overtime to extend host Chicago's winning streak to three.

Chicago's Bryan Berard had a power-play goal with 8:56 left to tie it.

BLUE 3, PENGUINS 2 (OT): Eric Boguniecki scored with 2:54 left in overtime to help host St. Louis deal Pittsburgh its 14th consecutive loss. Pittsburgh's Ryan Malone took advantage of a dump-in pass that got caught in Chris Pronger's skates for the tying goal at 1:44 of the third.

COYOTES 3, STARS 2: Daymond Langkow and Ladislav Nagy had a goal and an assist apiece, and host Phoenix ended an eight-game winless streak.

AVALANCHE 5, RED WINGS 2: Alex Tanguay scored the go-ahead early in the third, and David Aebischer made 28 saves for visiting Colorado.

FEDOROV GETS 1,000TH POINT: Anaheim's Sergei Fedorov became the first Russian-born player to reach 1,000 points with an assist against host Vancouver. [Last modified February 15, 2004, 01:15:45]
