Rebels' road woes continue vs. Vols

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - Brandon Crump had 25 points and 11 rebounds and Scooter McFadgon added 21 points to help Tennessee beat Ole Miss 83-66 Wednesday.

The Volunteers (13-9, 5-6 SEC) took the lead midway through the first and used a 13-3 run after halftime to put it out of reach. The Rebels (12-10, 4-7) haven't won an SEC road game.

VANDERBILT 70, ALABAMA 67: Matt Freije scored 32 and went 13-for-15 from the for the visiting Commodores (16-6, 5-6). Alabama (12-10, 4-7) trailed by 21 before fighting back to tie it at 60 with 4:33 to play. Vanderbilt, however, scored the next six.

GEORGIA: The school vowed to tighten security at Stegeman Coliseum, where Florida's top player and athletic director had problems after students stormed the court Tuesday. Georgia athletic director Vince Dooley wouldn't address specific complaints, but said he had been briefed on the celebration. He talked with SEC commissioner Mike Slive and planned to make a formal report to the league office. Florida AD Jeremy Foley said he was involved in an exchange with a Georgia fan.

EAST CAROLINA 76, TULANE 66: Derrick Wiley scored 22 for the host Pirates (10-12, 2-10). Ben Benfield scored 15 for the Green Wave (10-12, 3-8).

SOUTHERN MISS 70, HOUSTON 48: Jasper Johnson scored 16 for the host Golden Eagles (12-10, 5-6), who swept the season series from the Cougars (8-15, 2-10).

SAINT LOUIS 58, MARQUETTE 54: Josh Fisher and Izik Ohanon hit key free throws down the stretch for the host Billikens (13-9, 6-5). Marquette (13-9 4-7) has lost four consecutive.

MINNESOTA 73, INDIANA 71: Kris Humphries hit the winning free throws with 3.6 seconds left for the Gophers (10-14, 2-10 Big 10). Indiana (12-11, 6-6-) has lost three consecutive at home.
