Florida State senior guard Tim Pickett was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-District 6 first team, joining Florida sophomore guard Anthony Roberson, Miami senior forward Darius Rice, Mississippi State junior forward Lawrence Roberts and Mississippi senior forward Justin Reed.
Pickett, the Seminoles' leading scorer (15.6 points) and leader of their resurgence, is the school's 10th honoree and first since Terrell Baker in 1998. That was the last year the Seminoles reached the NCAA Tournament.
Rice has made the first team three straight years, and with Roberson's selection the Gators have had a first-teamer five straight years (Mike Miller in 2000, Udonis Haslem and Brett Nelson in 2001 and 2002 and Matt Bonner in 2003).
