DETROIT - Henrik Zetterberg had two power-play goals and an assist and the Red Wings beat the Blues 5-1 Friday.

Ray Whitney had a goal and two assists and Kirk Maltby and Darren McCarty also scored for Detroit, which has won six of seven.

Doug Weight scored for St. Louis, which had a three-game winning streak snapped.

With McCarty off for unsportsmanlike conduct, Maltby picked up a rebound of Steve Yzerman's shot in front of the net and slid a backhand shot past goaltender Reinhard Divis.

Zetterberg scored twice in the second, tipping pucks into the open side. Weight tipped a pass from Keith Tkachuk past goalie Manny Legace from the slot.

STARS 5, AVALANCHE 1: Jason Arnott scored three times for host Dallas. Scott Young added a third-period goal and Marty Turco made 15 saves for the Stars, 10-3-2 in their past 15. Sergei Zubov and Bill Guerin had two assists each for the Stars, who lost their first three with the Avalanche by a score of 11-3. Arnott completed his hat trick with 5.4 seconds left on the power play.

Earlier, Colorado acquired defenseman Bob Boughner from Carolina for a third-round draft pick and the rights to prospect Chris Bahen. In 43 games, Boughner, 32, has five assists and 80 penalty minutes. He has 14 goals in more than 600 games.

The Stars recalled goaltender Ron Tugnutt from the AHL. Tugnutt, 38, went 1-3-0 with Dallas. Dan Ellis, who stopped 25 shots in a 4-3 win over Los Angeles on Wednesday, was reassigned.

PANTHERS 2, PENGUINS 0: Roberto Luongo made 34 saves for his 20th career shutout and Pittsburgh's league-record home losing streak was pushed to 13. Kristian Huselius and Juraj Kolnik scored in the second against rookie goalie Andy Chiodo as the Panthers won for the first time in four (1-2-1) on their six-game road trip. The Panthers went 4-0 against the Penguins and have won nine in a row in the series. After allowing 13 power-play goals in the previous five, the Penguins were beaten on two even-strength goals about 10 minutes apart.

COYOTES 3, BLUE JACKETS 2: Paul Mara and Daymond Langkow scored in the final 3:18 and Phoenix rookie Jean-Marc Pelletier made 26 saves en route to his first victory. The visiting Blue Jackets took a lead on goals by Trevor Letowski and Jaroslav Spacek in the first.

FLYERS: Center Jeremy Roenick will undergo more tests for a severe concussion, one week after getting hit by a puck that broke his jaw. Roenick told the Philadelphia Inquirer that a neurologist in Arizona advised him to get an MRI exam on his brain stem, which will be performed today. It's unlikely he will return before the playoffs. "I'm not feeling any better. In fact, I feel worse," he said. "One day to the next, it's the same. I just don't feel any better. My head is playing games with me. I don't have any energy."

SABRES: Defenseman Doug Janik was reassigned to the AHL because of the return of Rory Fitzpatrick, who missed two games with a broken nose.

THRASHERS: Left wing Slava Kozlov was placed on injured reserve with a sprained shoulder. Kozlov has missed three games after sustaining the injury Feb. 13. He has 19 goals and 44 points. Center Derrek MacKenzie was recalled from the AHL.

WILD: Forward Matt Johnson was suspended five games and fined by the league for slashing Vancouver's Matt Cooke. Johnson received a match penalty in Thursday's 6-2 victory after the incident, during which Cooke retaliated by spearing Johnson in the midsection, breaking his stick. Johnson, who has five goals and one assist, will forfeit $32,361.
