ST. PETERSBURG - A new Beef "O'Brady's is going into the Marina Village Shopping Center on 34th Street S.

The family-themed, TV-sports restaurant will open March 22 at 4775 34th St. S. It is owned by Rick Onderko and Franc Urso.

Onderko said the restaurant took the equivalent of two spaces in a courtyard in the center and will fill about 3,000 square feet. It will seat approximately 95 people.

Beef "O'Brady's specializes in wings and promotes its location as family friendly.

Initially, the partners wanted a location on St. Pete Beach, Onderko said, but realized the 34th Street location offered four to five times the number of diners they feel they need to succeed.

The cost of the project is $450,000 to $460,000, Onderko said.

SouthTrust mortgage and securities businesses also are at the new location.

SouthTrust is based in Birmingham, Ala., and has more than 700 bank and loan offices in nine states including Florida.

Men's clothing shop to open at BayWalk

ST. PETERSBURG - Metropolitan Outfitters, a men's clothing store, opens at BayWalk on Saturday.

The shop is a new venture by the owners of Hurricane Pass Outfitters, which also is at BayWalk.

Metropolitan Outfitters will sell Nat Nast clothing. According to BayWalk officials, the new store will have the largest collection on the East Coast of that retro sportswear label. It also will offer suits and dress shirts along with the sportswear and accessories.

Metropolitan Outfitters joins 13 other stores at BayWalk, downtown's entertainment/retail center that celebrated its third anniversary last fall. The men's clothing store will be located next to the Buzz, a shop that caters to teens.

New bank branch helps Crossroads rejuvenation

Home Depot opened there as the anchor last fall. Signature built a new building, as are several other retailers. Existing shops are being refurbished and new landscaping has been added.
