Kitten's Joy victorious in Palm Beach Stakes

HALLANDALE BEACH - Kitten's Joy won the $100,000 Grade 3 Palm Beach Stakes by 13/4 lengths Saturday at Gulfstream Park.

Prince Arch was second, finishing a neck ahead of Pa Pa Da in the field of 12 3-year-olds going 11/8 miles on turf.

Ridden by Jerry Bailey, Kitten's Joy was timed in 1:48-3/5 and paid $3.20, $2.40 and $2.20. Prince Arch paid $13.40 and $6.80. Pa Pa Da paid $5.40 to show.

Kitten's Joy, owned by Kenneth and Sarah Ramsey, is a Kentucky-bred son of Al Prado. He lost his first two starts as a 2-year-old, but has been unbeaten since switching to turf Oct.9 at Belmont. He has earned $200,115.

BEST TURN STAKES: Redskin Warrior beat Scary Bob by five lengths to win the $81,825 race for 3-year-olds at Aqueduct.

Scary Bob nosed out Matsui in the field of seven.

Redskin Warrior went six furlongs in 1:09-4/5 over the fast track with Richard Migliore aboard. It was the third consecutive win in four career starts for the colt by Indian Charlie.

Redskin Warrior earned $49,095 for Paraneck Stable and returned $6.40, $4.10 and $3.50. Scary Bob paid $9.20 and $3.70 and Matsui was $7.70.

BUENA VISTA HANDICAP: Fun House, a 5-year-old ridden by Gary Stevens, beat Katdogawn by 23/4 lengths in a Grade 2 race for fillies and mares at Santa Anita in Arcadia, Calif.

Fun House, who went off as a long shot and paid $24 to win, covered one mile in 1:36. She earned $90,000 for the victory, her fifth. She has won $370,668 in her career.

Earlier, Unfurl the Flag, ridden by Smith, equaled the 7-furlong track record set by Spectacular Bid in 1980 with a time of 1:20.
