DURHAM, N.C. - Duke's dominating defense is back.

J.J. Redick scored 20 and the third-ranked Blue Devils ended a two-game losing streak by beating Maryland 86-63 on Sunday.

Shelden Williams had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Blue Devils (22-3, 11-2 ACC), who avoided their first three-game losing streak in eight seasons. Duke has won 40 straight at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

Duke had won 18 straight and reached No.1 for the seventh straight season before last week's 78-74 loss at North Carolina State. The Blue Devils followed with a 90-84 loss at Wake Forest on Wednesday, losing consecutive games for the third time in eight seasons.

But the Blue Devils ended that skid by overwhelming the Terrapins (13-10, 4-8), using their pressure defense to fuel a bevy of transition scores. Duke held Maryland to 37 percent shooting and scored 31 off 23 turnovers. The Blue Devils had 16 steals and five blocks.

Duke shot 50 percent, including 9 of 23 3-pointers.

"I don't think there was pressure on us," said Redick, who made 5 of 9 3-pointers. "Obviously this was a game that we really needed to win. But it was more just about us. We needed to make a statement today, that Duke is going to be here for the long run."

MICH. 71, NO.12 WISCONSIN 59: Lester Abram had 17 points and Courtney Sims 14 to lead the host Wolverines (15-8, 6-6 Big Ten), who kept alive their hopes for an NCAA Tournament bid with their first win over a ranked team. Michigan beat then-unranked North Carolina State on Dec. 2.

Devin Harris led the Badgers (17-6, 8-4) with 18 points on 5-of-20 shooting, and Mike Wilkinson had 14 points and nine rebounds. Wisconsin has lost two straight for the first time in 13 months, when it lost on the road to Michigan and Illinois.

NO.13 N.C. STATE 77, WASH. 72: Marcus Melvin scored 16 and Scooter Sherrill 13 for the Wolfpack (17-6), which improved to 14-0 at home this season. It also improved to 41-4 against nonconference opponents at the RBC Center, taking the first meeting between the schools.

Bobby Jones scored 22 for the Huskies (13-10), who have lost 24 straight road games against ranked teams.

NO.15 WAKE 80, NO.18 GA. TECH 76: Justin Gray scored 26 and the visiting Demon Deacons made it three wins in a row against ranked teams.

Wake Forest (17-6, 7-5 ACC) went ahead with an early 16-0 run, then withstood a furious comeback by the Yellow Jackets (19-7, 6-6), who tied the score at 71 with 31/2 minutes left. Then Eric Williams hit two key baskets inside and Chris Paul hit the clincher with 12 seconds left, his only points.

BC 76, RUTGERS 44: Jared Dudley scored 10 of his 20 during a 23-2 second-half run to lead the host Eagles (18-8, 7-6 Big East), who went on their spurt after leading scorer Craig Smith went to the bench with four fouls with 15:26 left. Herve Lamizana had 13 points and eight rebounds for the Scarlet Knights (15-9, 6-7).

Late Saturday

OREGON ST. 90, NO.14 ARIZONA 84: David Lucas and Chris Stephens scored 22 each as the host Beavers (11-13, 4-9 Pac-10) beat a ranked team for the first time since 2000, when they beat then-No.3 Arizona 70-69 in overtime at Gill Coliseum. The Wildcats (17-7, 9-6) had won three straight.

NO.20 SIU 66, HAWAII 62: The Salukis overcame a sluggish first half before a sellout crowd of 9,628 at SIU Arena. Darren Brooks scored 18, including a 3-pointer with 28 seconds left, to lead Southern Illinois (22-2) to its 14th straight win. Phil Martin scored 20 for the Rainbow Warriors (17-7).
