AUBURN HILLS, Mich. - Tracy McGrady wasn't thinking about revenge Sunday night.
He was just enjoying a rare Orlando victory.
McGrady's steal with 10 seconds left set up Juwan Howard's winning three-point play, and the Magic beat the Pistons 87-86 in its first visit to Detroit since last season's first-round playoff defeat.
"It just feels good to win a game," said McGrady, who scored 19 on 3-of-19 shooting. "I don't care that it is the Pistons or anyone else. I just like winning any game we can."
With the Pistons up two, McGrady knocked the ball away from Chauncey Billups, and Howard fought off Richard Hamilton to hit the tying layup. Howard then hit the free throw to put the Magic ahead.
"That was just a freak play," said Howard, who played despite food poisoning. "Luckily, I got something off."
McGrady thought it was a clean steal, but Billups disagreed: "We've got the ball up two, so you know they are coming to foul. I turned my back and he grabbed my arm."
Rasheed Wallace missed at the buzzer for the Pistons, who have lost eight of nine. He thought he was fouled by McGrady on the shot and argued with official Mike Callahan as the teams left the court.
"I'm not going to shoot an airball like that at the end," Wallace said. "But that's just one they missed. Hopefully, we'll get the call the next time."
Wallace had 14 points in his first full game for Detroit, two days after he missed the second half of a loss to Minnesota because paperwork from the three-team trade that sent him from Atlanta to Detroit had not been certified.
McGrady was fined $10,000 by the NBA for kicking a basketball into the stands twice at the end of the first half of Orlando's 102-98 win over Denver on Friday night.
ROCKETS 123, HAWKS 121 (3OT): Yao Ming scored eight of his 41 in the third overtime and added 16 rebounds for host Houston.
Atlanta forced overtime when Chris Crawford hit a 3-pointer with 30 seconds left, tying it at 94. The Rockets rallied to tie in the first two overtimes, at 107 on Steve Francis' jumper with four seconds left in the first and at 114 on Jim Jackson's 3-pointer with nine seconds left in the second.
CAVS 92, KNICKS 86: LeBron James scored 22 in his first game at Madison Square Garden, where the fans turned on the home team as New York fell behind by 23 in the fourth.
Whether it was booing or chanting the name of the departed Keith Van Horn, the matinee crowd let it be known it wasn't happy seeing the Knicks play so poorly. It spoke volumes about the rapidly deteriorating fortunes of the Knicks, who lost for the fourth time in five games and now embark on a four-game Western road trip.
SPURS 94, WOLVES 92: Tony Parker had 26 points and Tim Duncan made 7 of 8 free throws in the fourth quarter to finish with 25 points for visiting San Antonio.
Hedo Turkoglu had 13 points, all in the second half, and a career-high 14 rebounds, and Manu Ginobili added 11 points as the Spurs snapped Minnesota's five-game winning streak and pulled within three games of the Timberwolves in the Midwest Division.
LAKERS 104, SUNS 92: Kobe Bryant scored 16 of his 40 in the fourth quarter for visiting Los Angeles, on its first four-game winning streak since December.
Amare Stoudemire had 25 points and 12 rebounds for Phoenix and Shawn Marion added 22 points and 13 rebounds. The Suns couldn't protect a six-point lead in the third quarter and lost their eighth in a row.
PACERS 94, JAZZ 80: Jermaine O'Neal had 21 points, 10 rebounds and seven blocks, and host Indiana pulled away in the fourth quarter.
O'Neal made 4 of 10 shots but hit 13 of 15 free throws as the Pacers repeatedly went inside in the second half and won for the fifth time in six games.
BUCKS 113, WIZARDS 85: Michael Redd scored 25 and Milwaukee blew the game open in the third quarter to snap a seven-game road losing streak.
Wizards coach Eddie Jordan was fined $7,500 by the NBA for failing to leave the court in a timely manner at the end of Washington's 96-87 loss to Indiana on Friday.
KINGS 96, RAPTORS 81: Peja Stojakovic scored 27 and Mike Bibby 21 to lead visiting Sacramento. Bibby had 18 points in the second half for the Kings, winners of six of seven. Sacramento played without injured center Brad Miller, suspended forward Chris Webber and injured guard Bobby Jackson.
SONICS 108, CELTICS 87: Rashard Lewis scored 28 and hit six 3-pointers, and host Seattle won for the first time since the All-Star break by handing Boston its sixth straight loss. The SuperSonics made 18 of 33 3-pointers.
76ERS: X-rays on guard Allen Iverson's injured right shoulder showed he had nothing more than a bruise, but it was unclear whether he would be able to play tonight against the Pistons.
