Cavs rally from 25 down

CLEVELAND - LeBron James scored 21, fellow rookie Jason Kapono added a season-high 19 and the Cavaliers rallied from a 25-point deficit Monday night for a 104-100 victory over the New Orleans Hornets.

Carlos Boozer had 24 points and Jeff McInnis 14 points and nine assists for the Cavs, who have won three straight.

James also had a basket, steal and rebound in the final 1:19 as Cleveland completed one of the biggest comebacks in its 35-year history.

The Cavaliers were down 49-24 with 6:34 left in the second quarter but trimmed it to 14 by halftime and four by the end of the third before taking the lead at 83-82 on McInnis' short jumper with 7:42 to play.

Baron Davis hit a 3-pointer with 6.1 seconds left to get the Hornets within 102-100. Boozer made two free throws with 5.1 seconds left.

Cleveland was fined $5,000 by the NBA for a skit in which its mascot poked fun at Celtics guard and former Cav Ricky Davis.

PISTONS 76, 76ERS 66: Richard Hamilton scored 15 and Tayshaun Prince added 14 to lead visiting Detroit. Philadelphia was without Allen Iverson because of a shoulder injury. The Pistons were fined $200,000 by the NBA for using Rasheed Wallace and Mike James before the league finalized the trade that brought them to Detroit.

BLAZERS 89, HEAT 81: Zach Randolph had 22 points and 12 rebounds as visiting Portland won its fourth straight.

GRIZZLIES 109, NUGGETS 106: James Posey scored 20, including 13 during a fourth-quarter rally, for host Memphis.

WILLIAMS TRIAL: Jayson Williams wiped his fingerprints off a shotgun with a towel and tried to put it in the hands of the limousine driver the former All-Star shot moments before, one of the people at Williams' home that night testified.

Dean Bumbaco, an acquaintance of Williams who was present the night driver Costas "Gus" Christofi was killed, said he entered the former Net's bedroom immediately after hearing a shot and heard Williams say, "My God, my life is over." Bumbaco was the 13th prosecution witness at the start of the third week of testimony in Williams' manslaughter trial in New Jersey Superior Court in Somerville.

WARRIORS: Guard Speedy Claxton is questionable for today's game at Indiana with a sprained right thumb.
