At Colorado, critics and women who said they were sexually assaulted said sex and alcohol were used to lure top football recruits. Coach Gary Barnett, who has denied the accusations and defended his program, was placed on administrative leave while an independent commission investigates.
At Miami, Willie Williams, the Hurricanes' top football recruit, was charged with a felony and two misdemeanors after a recruiting visit to Florida. Miami officials said they did not know about the crimes in Gainesville - or about Williams' 10 previous arrests - until after he signed a national letter of intent Feb.4. The school has suspended the processing of Williams' admissions application.
The panel is scheduled to finish its report by April 20.
